3. Setup
Filling the Water Tank
- Ensure the iron is unplugged from the power outlet.
- Open the water filling inlet cover located on the top of the iron.
- Using the provided measuring cup, slowly pour tap water into the inlet until the MAX fill line is reached. Do not overfill.
- Close the water filling inlet cover securely.

Initial Use
- Plug the iron into a suitable 110V AC power outlet. The indicator light will illuminate.
- Set the temperature dial to the desired fabric setting. The iron heats up to maximum temperature in less than a minute.
- Allow the iron to heat until the indicator light turns off, signaling it has reached the set temperature.
4. Operating Instructions
Temperature Settings
- Rotate the temperature dial to select the appropriate heat setting for your fabric type (e.g., Silk, Wool, Cotton, Linen, Synthetics). Refer to garment care labels for guidance.
- Always start with lower temperature settings for delicate fabrics and gradually increase if needed.

Steam Functions
- Continuous Steam: Once the iron is hot enough (indicator light off), slide the steam control lever to the desired steam level. The iron regenerates steam in just 3 seconds.
- Shot of Steam / Vertical Steam: For stubborn wrinkles or vertical steaming of hanging garments, press the 'Shot of Steam' button. This delivers a powerful burst of steam.

Spray Mist
- For dampening fabric or tackling light wrinkles, press the 'Spray Mist' button to release a fine spray of water from the nozzle.

5. Retractable Cord Operation
The Mueller Steam Iron features an 8-foot retractable cord for convenient storage.
- To Extend: Gently pull the power cord from the back of the iron until it reaches the desired length. Do not pull past the red marker.
- To Retract: Press and hold the cord retraction button located on the back of the iron. The cord will automatically wind back into the iron. Guide the cord gently to prevent tangling.

6. Safety Features
3-Way Auto Shut-Off
For enhanced safety, the Mueller Steam Iron is equipped with a 3-way automatic shut-off feature:
- If left motionless horizontally, the iron will shut off after 30 seconds.
- If left motionless vertically (on its heel rest), the iron will shut off after 8 minutes.
- If tipped over on its side, the iron will shut off after 30 seconds.
The indicator light will flash when the auto shut-off is activated. To restart, simply move the iron.

7. Maintenance
Self-Clean Function
To maintain optimal performance and extend the life of your iron, use the self-clean function regularly (e.g., every few months).
- Fill the water tank to the MAX line.
- Plug in the iron and set the temperature dial to the highest setting.
- Once the iron reaches temperature (indicator light off), unplug it.
- Hold the iron horizontally over a sink.
- Press and hold the 'Self Clean' button. Hot water and steam will flush out mineral deposits and impurities from the soleplate.
- Gently shake the iron back and forth until the water tank is empty.
- Release the 'Self Clean' button and allow the iron to cool completely before storing.

Anti-Calc System
The integrated anti-calc system helps prevent mineral build-up in the steam vents, ensuring consistent steam performance. Using tap water is acceptable due to this feature.
8. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your iron, please review the following common solutions:
- No Steam: Check if the water tank is filled. Ensure the temperature dial is set to a steam-appropriate setting (usually higher heat).
- Water Leaking: Ensure the water filling inlet cover is securely closed. Avoid overfilling the water tank. Make sure the steam control is not set to maximum when the iron is not hot enough.
- Iron Not Heating: Verify the iron is properly plugged into a working power outlet. Check if the auto shut-off has activated; move the iron to reactivate.
- Cord Not Retracting: Ensure the cord is not tangled or obstructed. Gently guide the cord while pressing the retraction button.
