8. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Microphone not pairing with phone. | Bluetooth is off on phone; microphone is not in pairing mode; interference. | Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your phone. Put the microphone into pairing mode. Move closer to the phone and away from other wireless devices. |
| PTT button not working in Zello. | Incorrect Zello app settings; Zello app update issue. | Follow the "Zello Application Setup" steps (Section 5.3). If Zello was recently updated, close the app, ensure Bluetooth pairing, then re-open Zello and re-add the device in PTT button settings. |
| Low audio output from speaker. | Volume too low; microphone too far from mouth; speaker obstruction. | Increase volume using the microphone's volume buttons or phone's media volume. Speak directly into the microphone. Ensure speaker grille is clear. |
| Poor audio quality (scratchy/tinny). | Bluetooth latency; environmental interference. | Ensure clear line of sight between microphone and phone. Reduce distance between devices. Avoid environments with strong electromagnetic interference. |
| Short battery life. | Battery not fully charged; aging battery. | Ensure the device is fully charged before use. If battery life significantly degrades, consider battery replacement if available or contact support. |
