Maintenance

Troubleshooting

GPS Signal Loss:
If the device frequently loses GPS signal, ensure it has a clear line of sight to the sky. Obstructions like tall buildings or dense tree cover can interfere. Try repositioning the device on your dashboard or windshield. Ensure the software is up to date.
Battery Drains Quickly While Plugged In:
Verify that the truck charger and USB cable are securely connected and functioning correctly. Ensure the vehicle's power outlet is providing sufficient power. High screen brightness, continuous use of demanding applications, or extreme temperatures can increase power consumption. If issues persist, try a different charger or cable.
Device Freezes or is Unresponsive:
Perform a soft reset by pressing and holding the power button until the device restarts. If the issue continues, ensure there is sufficient storage space and close any unnecessary background applications.
Map Data Outdated:
Connect the device to a Wi-Fi network and check for available map updates through the device's settings or the Rand McNally portal. Regular updates are crucial for accurate routing.
