3. Initial Setup

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove all packaging materials and ensure all components are present. Retain packaging for future storage or transport.
  2. Placement: Place the steam ironing station on a firm, flat, and heat-resistant surface, such as an ironing board designed for steam generators. Ensure adequate ventilation around the unit.
  3. Filling the Water Tank:
    • Ensure the appliance is unplugged from the power outlet.
    • Remove the water tank (refer to Figure 2.2).
    • Fill the tank with distilled or demineralized water up to the 'MAX' indicator line. Do not overfill.
    • Reinsert the water tank securely into the base unit.
  4. Power Connection: Plug the power cord into a grounded electrical outlet.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 First Use

Before ironing garments, it is recommended to perform a test on an old cloth to remove any manufacturing residues from the soleplate.

  1. Follow the setup steps in Section 3.
  2. Press the ON/OFF button on the control panel (refer to Figure 2.7). The indicator lights will illuminate.
  3. Allow the unit to heat up. The 'OK' indicator light will turn solid when the desired temperature and steam pressure are reached (approximately 2 minutes).
  4. Adjust the temperature dial on the iron (refer to Figure 2.6) according to the fabric type.

4.2 Selecting Ironing Programs

The SMARTCARE PRESSURE SCS offers two intelligent ironing programs:

  • Smart Steam (MAX): Provides maximum steam output and temperature for robust fabrics and stubborn creases. Press the 'MAX' button on the control panel.
  • Eco: Reduces steam output and temperature for delicate fabrics and energy saving. Press the 'ECO' button on the control panel.

4.3 Ironing with Steam

  1. Once the 'OK' indicator light is solid, the iron is ready for use.
  2. Press and hold the steam trigger located under the iron's handle to release continuous steam.
  3. For a powerful burst of steam (steam shot), press the steam trigger fully and quickly. This is ideal for removing very stubborn creases or for vertical steaming.
  4. Move the iron smoothly over the fabric.

4.4 Dry Ironing

To iron without steam, simply do not press the steam trigger. The iron will function as a dry iron, heating the soleplate to the selected temperature.

4.5 After Ironing

  1. Press the ON/OFF button to turn off the appliance.
  2. Unplug the power cord from the electrical outlet.
  3. Allow the iron and base unit to cool down completely before storing.
  4. Wrap the power cord using the integrated cable collector for neat storage.

5. Maintenance and Care

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your steam ironing station.

5.1 Cleaning the Soleplate

  • Ensure the iron is cool and unplugged.
  • Wipe the ceramic soleplate with a damp cloth and a non-abrasive cleaner if necessary.
  • Do not use abrasive pads, scourers, or harsh chemicals, as these can damage the soleplate.

5.2 Cleaning the Base Unit and Water Tank

  • Ensure the appliance is cool and unplugged.
  • Wipe the exterior of the base unit with a soft, damp cloth.
  • Empty any remaining water from the tank after each use. The tank can be rinsed with clean water.

5.3 Descaling

Limescale buildup can affect steam performance. The stainless steel boiler is designed for durability, but regular descaling is crucial, especially in hard water areas.

  • Consult the manufacturer's website or contact customer support for specific descaling instructions for the CREATE SMARTCARE PRESSURE SCS.
  • Generally, descaling involves using a descaling solution or a mixture of water and white vinegar (check compatibility with the manufacturer).
  • Never pour descaling agents directly into the iron's soleplate openings.

5.4 Storage

  • Always ensure the appliance is completely cool and empty of water before storing.
  • Store the iron securely on its base unit.
  • Use the cable collector to keep the power cord tidy.
  • Store the appliance in a dry, safe place, out of reach of children.
