1. Introduction
Thank you for purchasing the Monoprice HT-35 Premium 5.1-Channel Home Theater System. This system is designed to provide an immersive audio experience for your home entertainment. It includes four satellite speakers, one center channel speaker, and one powered subwoofer.

2. Package Contents

3. Setup
3.1 Speaker Placement
Proper speaker placement is crucial for optimal sound performance. Consider the following guidelines:
- Center Channel Speaker: Place directly above or below your television, centered with the screen.
- Front Satellite Speakers: Position to the left and right of your television, equidistant from the listening position and angled slightly towards it.
- Rear Satellite Speakers: Place to the left and right of the main listening position, slightly behind it.
- Subwoofer: Position in the front of the room, ideally near a wall or corner to enhance bass response. Experiment with placement for the best sound.

The satellite and center speakers feature a universal 1/4-inch x 20 threaded mounting hole on the rear panel for secure wall or floor stand mounting. Satellite speakers also have an additional mounting hole on the bottom.
3.2 Connecting the System
Follow these steps to connect your HT-35 system to an AV receiver (not included):
- Connect Satellite and Center Speakers: Use speaker wire (not included) to connect each satellite and center speaker to the corresponding speaker terminals on your AV receiver. Ensure correct polarity (+ to + and - to -).
- Connect Subwoofer:
- Connect one end of the included RCA cable to the "LINE IN / SUB IN" port on the subwoofer.
- Connect the other end of the RCA cable to the "SUBWOOFER OUT" or "LFE OUT" port on your AV receiver.
- Plug the subwoofer's power cord into an AC outlet.
- Power On: Turn on your AV receiver and the subwoofer. The subwoofer has a "POWER MODE" switch with "On", "Auto", and "Off" settings. "Auto" mode will power on the subwoofer when an audio signal is detected.

4. Operating the System
Once connected, operate the system primarily through your AV receiver. The subwoofer offers additional controls:
- Volume Level: Adjusts the subwoofer's output volume. Start with a low setting and increase gradually.
- Low-Pass Filter: Controls the upper frequency limit of the subwoofer. Adjust this between 40Hz and 150Hz to blend the subwoofer's output seamlessly with your satellite speakers. A common starting point is 80Hz.
- Phase: Switches the subwoofer's phase between 0° and 180°. Experiment with both settings to find the one that provides the most impactful and coherent bass at your listening position.
- Power Mode: Select "On" for continuous power, "Auto" for automatic power on/off with signal detection, or "Off" to power down the subwoofer.
Refer to your AV receiver's manual for detailed instructions on speaker calibration and sound settings.
5. Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and performance of your Monoprice HT-35 system, follow these maintenance guidelines:
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe down the speaker cabinets. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Grilles: The low-profile speaker grilles can be gently cleaned with a soft brush or vacuum cleaner attachment to remove dust.
- Placement: Keep speakers away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and excessive moisture. Ensure adequate ventilation for the subwoofer.
- Cables: Periodically check all cable connections for security and ensure they are not pinched or damaged.
