5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Starting the Engine
Ensure the spark plug cap is securely attached. Prime the engine if necessary (refer to engine manual). Pull the starter cord firmly and smoothly until the engine starts. The Einhell Quick Start system facilitates easy ignition.
5.2 Mowing Techniques (5-in-1 Function)
Your lawn mower offers versatile mowing options:
- Mowing with Collection: Attach the grass catcher. This collects clippings for disposal.
- Mulching: Remove the grass catcher and insert the mulching plug (if included). This finely chops grass clippings and returns them to the lawn as natural fertilizer.
- Side Discharge: Attach the side discharge chute. This expels clippings to the side, useful for very tall grass or areas where collection is not needed.
- Rear Discharge: Without the grass catcher or mulching plug, clippings are discharged directly behind the mower.

5.3 Using the Rear-Wheel Drive
Engage the rear-wheel drive lever on the handle to activate the self-propulsion. This reduces effort, especially on uneven terrain or slopes. Disengage the drive when turning or maneuvering in tight spaces.

5.4 Stopping the Engine
Release the engine brake lever on the handle to stop the engine. For emergency stops, simply release this lever. Always allow the engine to cool down before storage or maintenance.
6. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and safe operation of your lawn mower.
6.1 Cleaning
After each use, clean the cutting deck and exterior of the mower. The Einhell handle system includes a cleaning position where the mower can be tilted vertically for easy access to the underside.

6.2 Blade Inspection and Sharpening
Regularly inspect the cutting blade for sharpness and damage. A dull or unbalanced blade can lead to an uneven cut and increased engine strain. For sharpening or replacement, it is recommended to consult a qualified service technician.
6.3 Engine Maintenance
Refer to the separate engine manual for detailed maintenance schedules, including:
- Oil changes.
- Air filter cleaning/replacement.
- Spark plug inspection/replacement.
6.4 Storage
When not in use, clean the mower thoroughly. The handle can be folded down to reduce storage space. Store the mower in a dry, well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
