Introduction
The Superfish Qubiq Aquarium is a modern 30-liter nano cube designed for easy fish keeping. It features an integrated filter system and LED lighting, providing a complete and compact aquatic environment. The intelligent cable support at the rear helps keep cables hidden for a clean look. This manual provides essential information for setting up, operating, and maintaining your Qubiq aquarium.
Safety Instructions
- Always unplug all electrical devices in and around the aquarium before performing any maintenance.
- Ensure your hands are dry before handling electrical plugs or outlets.
- Do not operate the aquarium if any part of it, including the power cord or plug, is damaged.
- Place the aquarium on a sturdy, level surface capable of supporting its full weight when filled with water.
- Keep out of reach of children and pets.
- The transparent cover prevents fish from jumping out; ensure it is always properly seated.
Package Contents
Please check that all items are present and undamaged before proceeding with setup:
- Superfish Qubiq 30L Aquarium
- Integrated Filter System
- LED Lighting Unit
- Transparent Cover
- Filter Cartridge (pre-installed or separate)
- Instruction Manual (this document)
Setup
- Placement: Choose a stable, level surface away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and drafts. Ensure the location can support the weight of the filled aquarium (approximately 38 kg / 84 lbs).
- Rinsing: Rinse the aquarium thoroughly with clean water. Do not use soap or detergents.
- Filter System: The Qubiq features an integrated filter. Ensure the filter cartridge is correctly seated within the filter compartment. The compartment also provides space for a hidden heater (heater not included).
- LED Lighting: Position the LED lighting unit securely on the aquarium. Ensure the cable is routed through the intelligent cable support at the rear to keep it tidy.
- Adding Substrate and Decor: Add your chosen substrate (gravel, sand) and aquarium decorations. Rinse all items thoroughly before placing them in the aquarium.
- Filling with Water: Slowly fill the aquarium with dechlorinated water. Use a plate or plastic bag on the substrate to prevent disturbing it. Fill to approximately 2-3 cm below the top edge.
- Connecting Power: Once filled and all components are in place, connect the filter pump and LED lighting to a power outlet. Ensure a drip loop is formed with the power cords to prevent water from running down to the outlet.
- Cover Placement: Place the transparent cover securely on top of the aquarium.

Operating
- LED Lighting: The LED lighting unit is controlled by a switch on its power cord. Turn it on during the day to simulate natural light cycles for your fish and plants. A typical lighting period is 8-10 hours per day.
- Filter Operation: The integrated filter should run continuously to maintain water quality. Ensure water is flowing through the filter outlet.
- Feeding: Feed your fish small amounts once or twice a day. Do not overfeed, as this can lead to poor water quality.
Maintenance
Regular maintenance is crucial for a healthy aquarium environment.
- Filter Cartridge Replacement: The filter cartridge should be changed every 6 weeks to ensure optimal filtration. Replacement cartridges are readily available. To replace, unplug the filter, remove the old cartridge, rinse the filter housing, and insert a new cartridge.
- Water Changes: Perform a partial water change of approximately 25% of the aquarium volume every 1-2 weeks. Use a gravel vacuum to remove debris from the substrate. Always use dechlorinated water for refills.
- Glass Cleaning: Clean the inside of the aquarium glass regularly to remove algae buildup. Use an aquarium-safe magnetic cleaner or scraper.
- Equipment Check: Periodically check all equipment (filter pump, LED light) for proper function and signs of wear.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Filter not working | Power disconnected, impeller clogged, filter cartridge blocked. | Check power connection. Unplug and clean impeller. Replace filter cartridge. |
| Cloudy water | Overfeeding, new tank syndrome, insufficient filtration, dirty filter. | Reduce feeding. Perform partial water change. Ensure filter is running and clean/replace cartridge. |
| LED light not turning on | Power disconnected, faulty switch, LED unit failure. | Check power connection. Test switch. Contact manufacturer if unit is faulty. |
| Fish gasping at surface | Low oxygen, poor water quality (ammonia/nitrite spike). | Increase surface agitation (e.g., adjust filter output). Perform immediate partial water change. Test water parameters. |
