1. Introduction

This manual provides instructions for the safe and effective use of your Duokon Stainless Steel Carbonation Cap and Ball Lock Connector set. This product is designed to facilitate the carbonation of various beverages, including soda, water, and homebrew, using standard PET bottles and a CO2 source. 4. Setup

1. Prepare your PET Bottle: Ensure your PET bottle is clean and sanitized. Fill it with your desired cold liquid, leaving adequate headspace for carbonation.
2. Attach Carbonation Cap: Screw the stainless steel carbonation cap onto the neck of the PET bottle until it is hand-tight. Ensure the O-ring creates a good seal.
3. Connect Ball Lock Connector: Attach the appropriate ball lock connector (typically the grey 'gas in' connector for carbonation) to the post on the carbonation cap. Push down firmly until it clicks into place.
4. Connect CO2 Line: Connect your CO2 gas line (with a regulator) to the barb fitting on the ball lock connector. The integrated 5/16 inch barb is designed for a 5/16 inch inner diameter tube.

5. Operating Instructions

1. Carbonation: Once the CO2 line is connected, slowly open the CO2 supply valve on your regulator. Set the desired pressure for carbonation (refer to carbonation charts for specific beverage types). Shake the bottle gently to aid CO2 absorption. Continue until the desired level of carbonation is achieved.
2. Serving (Optional): If using the liquid out ball lock connector (black), you can connect a serving tap to dispense your carbonated beverage directly from the PET bottle.
3. Disconnecting: Close the CO2 supply valve. Carefully release any residual pressure from the bottle before disconnecting the ball lock connector. To release pressure, gently pull up on the collar of the ball lock connector or use a pressure relief valve if available.

6. Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular cleaning and maintenance will ensure the longevity and hygienic operation of your carbonation caps and connectors.

• After Each Use: Disassemble the carbonation cap and ball lock connector. Wash all components with warm water and a mild, food-safe detergent. Use a small brush to clean any hard-to-reach areas.
• Sanitization: Sanitize all components before each use, especially when carbonating homebrew or other sensitive beverages, to prevent contamination.
• Inspection: Periodically inspect the O-rings for wear or damage. Replace them if they appear cracked, flattened, or otherwise compromised to ensure a proper seal.

7. Troubleshooting

• Leakage: If you experience leakage, check that the carbonation cap is screwed on tightly and that the O-ring is properly seated and not damaged. Ensure the ball lock connector is fully engaged.
• Insufficient Carbonation: Ensure your CO2 tank has sufficient gas. Verify that the regulator pressure is set correctly and that the liquid in the PET bottle is cold, as cold liquids absorb CO2 more effectively.
• Difficulty Connecting/Disconnecting: Ensure the ball lock connector is clean and free of debris. Lubricate O-rings with food-grade lubricant if necessary.
