5. Setup Instructions

The Cudy GS105D is a plug-and-play device, requiring no complex configuration. Follow these steps to set up your switch:

  1. Connect the Power Adapter: Plug the provided power adapter into the power port on the switch and then into a standard electrical outlet. The Power LED on the front panel should illuminate.
  2. Connect to Your Network: Connect an Ethernet cable from your router or modem to any of the RJ45 ports on the GS105D.
  3. Connect Your Devices: Connect your wired devices (e.g., PC, laptop, gaming console, printer) to the remaining RJ45 ports on the GS105D using Ethernet cables.

Once connected, the corresponding Link/Act LEDs for the active ports will light up, indicating a successful connection. The switch will automatically detect the speed and duplex mode of the connected devices.

  • Auto-Negotiation: Each port automatically detects the link speed (10/100/1000Mbps) of a connected network device and intelligently adjusts for compatibility and optimal performance.
  • Auto MDI/MDIX: Eliminates the need for crossover cables, simplifying network connections. You can use either straight-through or crossover Ethernet cables for any port.
  • Fanless Design: Ensures silent operation, ideal for home or office environments where noise reduction is desired.
  • Cudy Green Technology: The switch automatically adjusts power consumption based on the link status and cable length, saving energy.

7. Maintenance

To ensure optimal performance and longevity of your Cudy GS105D switch, follow these maintenance guidelines:

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the switch. Do not use liquid or aerosol cleaners.
  • Ventilation: Ensure the switch is placed in a well-ventilated area to prevent overheating. Do not block any ventilation openings.
