2. Setup and Installation
The Grizzl-E Classic charger is designed for straightforward installation. It can be plugged into an existing NEMA 14-50 outlet or hardwired by a qualified electrician.

Installation Steps (NEMA 14-50 Plug-in)
- Choose Location: Select a suitable location near your parking spot with access to a NEMA 14-50 outlet. The unit is rated for indoor/outdoor use.
- Mounting: Securely attach the mounting bracket to a wall stud or appropriate anchor points using the provided screws.
- Attach Charger: Slide the Grizzl-E charger unit onto the mounted bracket.
- Plug In: Insert the NEMA 14-50 plug into the dedicated 240V NEMA 14-50 receptacle.
- Secure Cable: Use the provided J1772 plug holder and backplate cradle to neatly store the charging cable and connector when not in use.

3. Operating Instructions
Operating the Grizzl-E Classic charger is simple and intuitive.
Charging Your EV
- Connect to EV: Open your vehicle's charging port cover. Take the J1772 connector from the Grizzl-E charger and firmly insert it into your vehicle's charging port until you hear a click, indicating a secure connection.
- Initiate Charging: The charger will automatically begin the charging process. The LED indicator on the Grizzl-E unit will illuminate to show charging status.
- Monitor Charging: You can monitor the charging progress through your vehicle's dashboard or companion app, if available.
- End Charging: To stop charging, first unlock your vehicle (if applicable), then press the release button on the J1772 connector and pull it out from your vehicle's charging port.
- Store Cable: Return the J1772 connector to its holder on the Grizzl-E unit to keep it protected and organized.
Adjusting Amperage
The Grizzl-E Classic allows for adjustable maximum current output to match your circuit breaker capacity. The available settings are 40A, 32A, 24A, and 16A. Refer to the internal dip switches for adjustment, typically found by opening the unit's enclosure (consult a qualified electrician if unsure).
- 40 Amps: For 50A circuit breaker.
- 32 Amps: For 40A circuit breaker.
- 24 Amps: For 30A circuit breaker.
- 16 Amps: For 20A circuit breaker.
4. Maintenance
