Introduction
This manual provides detailed instructions for the proper setup, operation, and maintenance of your Benro S6PRO Flat Base Fluid Video Head. Designed for small video cameras and mirrorless rigs, the S6PRO offers precise control and stability for professional video capture. Setup
- Mounting the Video Head: The S6PRO features a 65mm flat base with a 3/8"-16 thread. Securely attach the video head to a compatible tripod, slider, jib, or monopod by screwing the base onto the mounting platform until it is firm.
- Attaching the Pan Arm: Insert the pan arm into the designated socket on the side of the video head. Tighten the locking knob on the pan arm to secure it in place. Adjust the angle and length of the pan arm for comfortable operation.
- Mounting the Camera Plate: Ensure the quick release plate is properly attached to the bottom of your camera or camera rig. Slide the camera plate into the receiver on top of the video head. Lock the plate securely using the quick release lever.
- Balancing the Camera:
- Set the counterbalance dial to '0' and the fluid drag controls to their lowest setting.
- Unlock the camera plate and slide your camera forward or backward until it is horizontally balanced. The camera should remain level when tilted slightly forward or backward.
- Once balanced, lock the camera plate in position.
- Adjust the 6-step counterbalance (0-5) dial to match the weight of your camera setup. This will prevent the camera from tipping forward or backward when the tilt lock is disengaged.

Operating
- Pan and Tilt Lock: Use the dedicated pan and tilt lock levers to secure the head's movement. Engage these locks when repositioning the camera or when not actively operating the head.
- Fluid Drag Control: The S6PRO features continuous fluid drag adjustments for both pan and tilt movements. Rotate the fluid drag control knobs (see Figure 3) to increase or decrease resistance, allowing for smooth and controlled camera movements.
- Counterbalance Adjustment: The 6-step counterbalance system (0-5) helps to offset the weight of your camera, providing smoother tilt movements and preventing accidental drops. Adjust this dial (see Figure 4) until your camera remains stable at any tilt angle when the tilt lock is disengaged.
- Illuminated Bubble Level: Use the integrated illuminated bubble level to ensure your setup is perfectly horizontal, which is crucial for level panning shots.
- Accessory Mounts: The S6PRO includes two 1/4"-20 accessory mounts (see Figure 5). These allow you to attach external monitors, audio recorders, or other accessories directly to the head without needing additional cages or rigs.

Maintenance
- Cleaning: Regularly wipe the video head with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust and debris. For stubborn dirt, use a slightly damp cloth and then dry thoroughly. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- Storage: Store the video head in a clean, dry environment, away from extreme temperatures and humidity. When not in use, it is recommended to store it in its protective bag or case.
- Inspection: Periodically check all knobs, levers, and screws to ensure they are securely tightened. Do not overtighten.
Troubleshooting
- Uneven Pan or Tilt Movement: Ensure all locking mechanisms are fully disengaged. Check for any obstructions or debris in the fluid drag system. If the issue persists, verify that the head is securely mounted and that the camera is properly balanced.
- Camera Not Staying Level: Re-evaluate the camera's balance on the quick release plate. Adjust the sliding plate position and then fine-tune the counterbalance dial (0-5) until the camera remains stable at various tilt angles.
- Accessory Mounts Not Holding: Ensure the accessory's screw is fully engaged and tightened into the 1/4"-20 thread. Do not overload the accessory mounts beyond their intended capacity.
