- Add Coffee Grounds: Place a standard paper filter (cone or basket type, depending on your model) into the filter basket, or use the permanent filter. Add the desired amount of ground coffee. A general guideline is one level tablespoon of ground coffee per cup. Adjust to taste.

6. Cleaning and Maintenance
Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your coffee maker.
6.1. Daily Cleaning
- Always unplug the coffee maker before cleaning.
- Wash the carafe, filter basket, and lid in warm, soapy water after each use. These parts are typically top-rack dishwasher safe, but hand washing is recommended for longevity.
- Wipe the exterior of the coffee maker with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads.
- Do not immerse the main unit, cord, or plug in water or any other liquid.
6.2. Descaling (Mineral Deposit Removal)
Mineral deposits (limescale) can build up in your coffee maker over time, affecting performance and taste. Descale your coffee maker every 2-3 months, or more frequently if you have hard water.
- Prepare Descaling Solution: Mix 4 cups of white vinegar with 2 cups of cold water. Alternatively, use a commercially available descaling solution designed for coffee makers, following its instructions.
- Run Half Cycle: Pour the solution into the water reservoir. Place an empty filter (no coffee) in the filter basket and the carafe on the warming plate. Turn on the coffee maker and let half of the solution brew through.
- Soak: Turn off the coffee maker and let it stand for at least 15 minutes (or up to 30 minutes for heavy buildup).
- Complete Cycle: Turn the coffee maker back on and let the remaining solution brew through.
- Rinse Cycles: Discard the descaling solution. Fill the water reservoir with fresh, cold water and run at least two full brewing cycles with only water to rinse out any remaining solution.
