RIGID Adapt E-Series 50-Inch LED Light Bar User Manual

Model: 290413 | Brand: RIGID

1. Introduction

This manual provides comprehensive instructions for the installation, operation, and maintenance of your RIGID Adapt E-Series 50-Inch LED Light Bar. The Adapt E-Series is engineered with advanced lighting technology, including GPS-guided Adapt Mode and Active Power Management, to optimize illumination based on driving conditions and vehicle speed. Please read this manual thoroughly before installation and use to ensure proper function and safety.

2. Product Features

The RIGID Adapt E-Series LED Light Bar combines robust construction with cutting-edge technology to deliver superior off-road lighting performance. Key features include:

  • Durable Construction: Features the same high-strength aluminum heat sink and unbreakable polycarbonate lens as RIGID's E-Series.
  • Active Power Management (APM): Continuously monitors input voltage to maintain optimal light output. If vehicle voltage drops, APM gradually reduces power consumption until stability is restored.
  • Active View Technology (AVT): Utilizes an internal GPS module to determine vehicle speed, dynamically adjusting the beam pattern across three unique optic zones.
  • Three Optic Zones: Distributes available power among Scene, Driving, and Spot beams to create the most effective illumination pattern for various speeds.
  • Seamless Beam Transition: Ensures smooth transitions between beam patterns as driving conditions change.

3. Setup and Installation

3.1 What's in the Box

Your RIGID Adapt E-Series LED Light Bar package includes:

  • 1 x RIGID Industries 652-290413 Adapt E-Series LED Light Bar

Note: Mounting hardware and wiring harness are typically sold separately or may be included with specific kits. Please verify your package contents.

3.2 Installation Guidelines

Professional installation is recommended for optimal performance and safety. Ensure all electrical connections are secure and properly insulated to prevent short circuits or damage. Refer to your vehicle's specific mounting points and electrical system for compatibility.

4. Operating Instructions

The RIGID Adapt E-Series LED Light Bar operates with two primary adaptive technologies:

4.1 Active Power Management (APM)

The APM system continuously monitors the vehicle's electrical system voltage. If the voltage is stable, the light bar will utilize its full power output. Should the voltage drop due to insufficient power, the APM system will gradually reduce the light's power consumption to stabilize the vehicle's voltage, ensuring consistent operation without overloading the electrical system.

4.2 Active View Technology (AVT) and Optic Zones

The AVT uses an integrated GPS module to detect your vehicle's speed. Based on this speed, the system intelligently distributes power among three distinct optic zones:

  • Scene Beam: Provides a wide, short-range flood of light, ideal for low speeds or stationary use to illuminate the immediate surroundings.
  • Driving Beam: Offers a balanced spread of light, suitable for moderate speeds, illuminating the path ahead and peripheral areas.
  • Spot Beam: Delivers a focused, long-range beam, optimized for high-speed driving to project light far down the road.

The light bar automatically transitions between these beam patterns to provide the most effective illumination for your current speed, ensuring optimal visibility and safety.

5. Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your RIGID Adapt E-Series LED Light Bar, follow these maintenance guidelines:

  • Cleaning: Regularly clean the lens and housing with a soft cloth and mild soap and water. Avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals that could damage the polycarbonate lens or finish.
  • Inspection: Periodically inspect the mounting hardware, wiring, and connections for any signs of wear, corrosion, or damage. Tighten any loose fasteners.
  • Water Resistance: The light bar is waterproof. However, avoid directing high-pressure water jets directly at seals or electrical connections.

6. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your RIGID Adapt E-Series LED Light Bar, consider the following troubleshooting steps:

  • Light Not Turning On:
    • Check all electrical connections for proper contact and security.
    • Verify the power source (battery, vehicle electrical system) is providing adequate voltage.
    • Inspect the fuse in the wiring harness (if applicable) and replace if blown.
  • Intermittent Operation:
    • Ensure wiring is not chafed or damaged, leading to intermittent contact.
    • Check for loose connections at the light bar or power source.
    • The Active Power Management system may be adjusting output due to fluctuating vehicle voltage. Monitor vehicle voltage.
  • Beam Pattern Not Adapting:
    • Ensure the GPS module has a clear view of the sky for satellite acquisition.
    • Verify the light bar is receiving consistent power.

If problems persist after attempting these steps, contact RIGID customer support for further assistance.
