Installation Guide
Before beginning installation, ensure your computer is powered off and unplugged from the wall outlet. It is recommended to discharge any residual power by holding the power button for a few seconds after unplugging.
- Prepare the PC Case: Open your PC case and locate the power supply mounting area, typically at the bottom or top rear.
- Mount the PSU: Carefully slide the NZXT C650 into the designated slot. Align the screw holes on the PSU with those on the case. Secure the PSU using the provided mounting screws.
- Connect Modular Cables: Identify the necessary cables for your motherboard, CPU, graphics card(s), and storage devices. Connect these cables to the corresponding ports on the modular power supply.

- Route Cables: Route the connected cables through your case's cable management channels to their respective components. Connect the 24-pin ATX cable to your motherboard, the 8-pin (or 4+4-pin) CPU cable to the CPU power header, and the appropriate PCIe cables to your graphics card(s). Connect SATA power cables to SSDs/HDDs and peripheral cables to other devices as needed.
- Connect AC Power: Once all internal connections are secure, connect the AC power cord to the power supply's inlet on the rear panel.

- Power On: Plug the AC power cord into a wall outlet. Flip the main power switch on the rear of the PSU to the 'ON' position. You can now power on your computer.
Operation
The NZXT C650 is designed for straightforward operation. Once installed and connected, it will provide stable power to your system.
Zero RPM Fan Mode
The C650 features a Zero RPM Fan Mode for silent operation. When this mode is active, the power supply's fan will remain off under low-load conditions, only spinning up when the power supply reaches a certain temperature threshold. This reduces noise output during light computing tasks.
- To activate Zero RPM Fan Mode, ensure the button labeled "ZERO RPM FAN MODE" on the rear of the PSU is pressed in.
- To disable Zero RPM Fan Mode (fan will always spin), ensure the button is in the out position.

Maintenance
Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your power supply.
- Dust Removal: Periodically clean dust from the power supply's fan intake and exhaust grilles using compressed air. Ensure the system is powered off and unplugged before cleaning.
- Cable Management: Maintain tidy cable routing to ensure proper airflow within your PC case, which helps in heat dissipation for all components, including the PSU.
- Environmental Conditions: Operate the power supply in a well-ventilated area, away from excessive heat, humidity, and direct sunlight.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your NZXT C650 power supply, consider the following common troubleshooting steps:
- No Power:
- Ensure the AC power cord is securely plugged into both the PSU and the wall outlet.
- Verify the main power switch on the rear of the PSU is in the 'ON' position.
- Check all modular cable connections, especially the 24-pin ATX and 8-pin CPU cables, to ensure they are fully seated.
- Test the wall outlet with another device to confirm it has power.
- System Instability/Crashes:
- Ensure your power supply's wattage is sufficient for all your system components.
- Verify all power connections to components (motherboard, CPU, GPU, storage) are secure.
- If overclocking, try returning to stock settings to rule out power delivery issues.
- Fan Noise:
- Check if the Zero RPM Fan Mode is enabled. If you prefer the fan to always spin, disable this mode.
- Ensure the PSU fan intake/exhaust is not obstructed by dust or case components.
- A slight clicking sound from a relay upon startup or shutdown is normal for some PSUs and not indicative of a fault.
