Setup
- Ensure Safety: Always perform setup in a well-ventilated area, away from any flammable materials, heat sources, or open flames. Ensure the soldering lamp is cool and the gas adjustment knob is fully closed (clockwise).
- Prepare Cartridge: Use only genuine CAMPINGAZ C 206 pierceable cartridges. Inspect the cartridge for any signs of damage, rust, or leaks before use. Do not use damaged cartridges.
- Attach Cartridge:
Unscrew the base of the soldering lamp by turning it counter-clockwise. Carefully insert the C 206 cartridge into the lamp's base, ensuring it is correctly aligned. The cartridge will be pierced upon insertion, activating the Gas Lock System (GLS) as per EN417:2012 standards. Screw the base back onto the lamp unit firmly until hand-tight. Do not overtighten, as this may damage the seal.

- Check for Leaks: After attaching the cartridge, listen carefully for any hissing sounds indicating a gas leak. You can also apply a soapy water solution to the connection point; the formation of bubbles indicates a leak. If a leak is detected, immediately move the appliance to a well-ventilated outdoor area, tighten the connection, and re-check. If the leak persists, do not use the appliance and contact customer support.
Operating Instructions
- Gas Flow Adjustment: Ensure the appliance is pointed away from yourself and others. Slowly turn the gas adjustment knob (located on the handle) counter-clockwise to allow a small amount of gas to flow. You should hear a faint hissing sound.
- Ignition: Press the piezo ignition button firmly and quickly. The flame should ignite immediately. If it does not ignite after a few attempts, turn off the gas, wait a few seconds for any accumulated gas to disperse, and then repeat the process.
- Adjust Flame: Once ignited, adjust the gas flow knob to achieve the desired flame size and intensity for your task. A stable, blue flame is generally ideal for most applications. The maximum flame temperature can reach up to 1800°C.
- Extinguishing: To turn off the soldering lamp, turn the gas adjustment knob clockwise until the flame extinguishes completely. Ensure the knob is fully closed to prevent any gas leakage.
- Cool Down: After use, place the appliance on a heat-resistant surface and allow it to cool down completely before storing or handling. The nozzle and surrounding areas will remain hot for some time.
Maintenance
- Cleaning: Keep the nozzle and air intake clear of any debris or obstructions. Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the lamp. Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or immerse the appliance in water.
- Storage: Store the soldering lamp in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and flammable materials. Ensure the gas adjustment knob is fully closed. If the cartridge is not empty, it can remain attached, but always ensure the gas is off.
- Cartridge Replacement: Only replace cartridges when the existing one is completely empty and the appliance is cool. Follow the setup instructions for attaching a new cartridge. Never attempt to refill pierceable cartridges.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Lamp does not ignite. | Gas adjustment knob is closed; empty gas cartridge; faulty piezo ignition; clogged nozzle. | Ensure gas knob is open. Replace cartridge if empty. Check for obstructions in the nozzle. If piezo is faulty, contact customer support. |
| Flame is unstable, weak, or goes out frequently. | Low gas pressure (cartridge nearly empty); improper gas flow adjustment; air intake obstruction; cold cartridge. | Adjust gas flow. Replace cartridge if low on gas. Clear any obstructions from air intake. Allow cartridge to warm slightly if very cold (do not heat directly). |
| Gas leaks from the connection point between lamp and cartridge. | Cartridge not properly seated; damaged seal; overtightened connection. | Ensure cartridge is firmly but not excessively tightened. If leak persists, do not use and contact customer support. Do not attempt to repair seals yourself. |
