Operating Instructions
Temperature Control
The roaster oven features a full-range temperature control from 150°F to 450°F, along with a dedicated "Keep Warm" setting and a "Defrost" function. Turn the knob to select your desired temperature.
Roasting
- Prepare your food and place it on the removable roasting rack within the inner pan.
- Cover the roaster with the self-basting lid.
- Set the desired roasting temperature using the control knob. The red indicator light will illuminate when the heating element is active.
- The self-basting lid is designed to continually recirculate moisture, which helps to keep your food tender and enhances flavor.

Slow Cooking
For slow cooking, select a lower temperature setting, typically between 150°F and 250°F, depending on your recipe. The roaster oven will maintain a consistent low heat for extended cooking periods.
Warming Setting
After cooking, you can switch the control knob to the "Keep Warm" setting (150°F) to maintain your food at an ideal serving temperature without further cooking or drying it out. This is perfect for buffets or when serving multiple dishes.
Defrost Function
The roaster oven includes a "Defrost" setting (approximately 275°F) to safely thaw frozen items before cooking. This feature helps to reduce thawing time and prepare food for optimal cooking results.

- The self-basting lid can also be washed with soap and water. Ensure all parts are thoroughly dried before reassembly or storage.

Troubleshooting
If you encounter any issues with your roaster oven, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
Roaster Not Heating
- Ensure the power cord is securely plugged into a functional electrical outlet.
- Check that the temperature control knob is set to a desired temperature and not in the "Off" position.
- Verify the power outlet is working by plugging in another appliance.
Food Not Cooking Evenly
- Ensure the lid is properly seated on the roaster to maintain consistent temperature and moisture.
- Avoid frequently opening the lid during cooking, as this can cause significant heat loss and extend cooking times.
- Confirm the temperature setting is appropriate for the type and quantity of food being cooked.
Food is Dry
- The self-basting lid is designed to retain moisture. Ensure it is used correctly and fits snugly.
- For very lean meats or longer cooking times, consider adding a small amount of liquid (e.g., broth, water) to the bottom of the removable pan.
Exterior Gets Hot
- It is normal for the exterior surfaces of electric roaster ovens to become hot during operation. Always use the cool-touch handles and appropriate oven mitts when handling the unit or its components during or immediately after use.
