1. Introduction

Thank you for purchasing the Amazon Basics Oil Space Heater. This manual provides important information regarding the safe operation, assembly, maintenance, and troubleshooting of your heater. Please read this manual thoroughly before use and retain it for future reference.

2. Important Safety Instructions

WARNING: To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, or injury, observe the following safety precautions:

• Read all instructions before using this heater.
• This heater is hot when in use. To avoid burns, do not let bare skin touch hot surfaces. Use handles when moving this heater.
• Keep combustible materials, such as furniture, pillows, bedding, papers, clothes, and curtains at least 3 feet (0.9 m) from the front of the heater and keep them away from the sides and rear.
• Extreme caution is necessary when any heater is used by or near children or invalids and whenever the heater is left operating and unattended.
• Always unplug the heater when not in use.
• Do not operate any heater with a damaged cord or plug or after the heater malfunctions, has been dropped, or damaged in any manner. Return heater to authorized service facility for examination, electrical or mechanical adjustment, or repair.

• To disconnect heater, turn controls to OFF, then remove plug from outlet.
• Do not insert or allow foreign objects to enter any ventilation or exhaust opening as this may cause an electric shock or fire, or damage the heater.
• To prevent a possible fire, do not block air intakes or exhaust in any manner. Do not use on soft surfaces, like a bed, where openings may become blocked.
• A heater has hot and arcing or sparking parts inside. Do not use it in areas where gasoline, paint, or flammable liquids are used or stored.
• Use this heater only as described in this manual. Any other use not recommended by the manufacturer may cause fire, electric shock, or injury to persons.
• Always plug heaters directly into a wall outlet/receptacle. Never use with an extension cord or relocatable power tap (outlet/power strip).
• This product contains chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm.

3. Product Overview

The Amazon Basics Oil Space Heater is a portable radiator heater designed for indoor use. It features 7 oil-filled fins, three heat settings (High, Medium, Low), and an adjustable thermostat for customizable warmth. The unit is equipped with manual controls and safety features such as tip-over protection and overheat protection.

4. Assembly

This heater requires minor assembly to attach the caster wheels. Follow these steps:

1. Carefully unpack the heater and all components.
2. Turn the heater upside down on a soft, non-abrasive surface to prevent scratching.
3. Locate the caster wheels and their mounting brackets.
4. Align each caster wheel bracket with the designated slots on the bottom of the heater.
5. Insert the U-shaped bolts into the holes on the caster wheel brackets and secure them with the provided wing nuts. Ensure they are tightened firmly but do not overtighten.
6. Once all wheels are securely attached, carefully turn the heater upright.

5. Operation

Before operating, ensure the heater is placed on a stable, level surface and is at least 3 feet (0.9 m) away from any walls or combustible materials. Plug the heater directly into a 120V AC electrical outlet.

5.1 Controls

The heater features two manual control dials:

• Heat Setting Dial: Controls the power output (Low, Medium, High).
• Thermostat Dial: Adjusts the desired room temperature.

5.2 Initial Use

When operating the heater for the first time, it is normal for it to emit a slight odor or smoke. This is due to the burning off of manufacturing residues and should dissipate quickly. Operate the heater in a well-ventilated area for the first few hours.

5.3 Setting the Heat

1. Plug the heater into a suitable electrical outlet.
2. Turn the Heat Setting Dial to your desired power level:
   Low (600W): For minimal heat or maintaining warmth.
   Medium (900W): For moderate heating.
   High (1500W): For maximum heat output and faster warming of a room.
3. Turn the Thermostat Dial clockwise to the maximum setting. Once the room reaches your desired temperature, slowly turn the Thermostat Dial counter-clockwise until you hear a click. The heater will now cycle on and off to maintain this temperature.

6. Maintenance and Cleaning

The Amazon Basics Oil Space Heater is designed for minimal maintenance. The diathermic oil inside the fins is permanently sealed and does not require refilling or servicing.

6.1 Cleaning

Always unplug the heater and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.

• Use a dry cloth to wipe the exterior surfaces of the heater.
• Do not use water, abrasive cleaners, or chemical solvents, as these can damage the heater.
• Ensure no water or liquids enter the interior of the heater.

7. Storage

When not in use, store the heater in a cool, dry location. It is recommended to store the heater in its original packaging to protect it from dust and damage. Wrap the power cord neatly around the cord storage area (if available) or secure it with a tie to prevent tangling.
