1. Introduction
Welcome to the user manual for the ANENG B01 Pen Type Digital Multimeter. This manual provides essential information for the safe and effective operation, setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting of your new device. Please read this manual thoroughly before use to ensure optimal performance and safety.
2. Safety Information
To ensure safe operation and service of the meter, follow these safety guidelines:
- Always observe local and national safety codes.
- Do not exceed the maximum input values for any function.
- Use caution when working with voltages above 30V AC RMS, 42V peak, or 60V DC. These voltages pose a shock hazard.
- Before measuring current, ensure the circuit is de-energized and the meter is properly connected in series.
- Replace batteries promptly when the low battery indicator appears to ensure accurate readings.
- Do not operate the meter if it appears damaged or if the battery cover is not securely closed.
- Keep hands and fingers behind the probe barriers during measurements.

6.2 Measurement Functions
The ANENG B01 Multimeter offers a variety of measurement capabilities:
- DC/AC Voltage Measurement: Connect the integrated probe to the positive test point and the common lead (if using an external one) to the negative. Select the appropriate voltage mode (DCV or ACV) if not in auto-ranging. Read the voltage value on the display.
- Resistance Measurement: Ensure the circuit is de-energized. Connect the probes across the component to be measured. The display will show the resistance in Ohms (Ω), Kilo-Ohms (kΩ), or Mega-Ohms (MΩ).
- Capacitance Measurement: Ensure the capacitor is discharged before testing. Connect the probes across the capacitor terminals. The display will show the capacitance in Farads (F), microFarads (µF), or nanoFarads (nF).
- Frequency Measurement: Connect the probes to the signal source. The display will show the frequency in Hertz (Hz) or KiloHertz (kHz).
- Diode Test: Connect the probes across the diode. The display will show the forward voltage drop for a good diode. 'OL' indicates an open circuit or reverse bias.
- Continuity Test: Connect the probes across the circuit or component. A low resistance (typically below 50Ω) will trigger an audible beep, indicating continuity.
- NCV (Non-Contact Voltage) Detection: Hold the tip of the multimeter near an AC voltage source without direct contact. The device will indicate the presence of AC voltage through an audible alarm and/or visual indicator.

7. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Wipe the device with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Storage: Store the multimeter in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Remove batteries if storing for extended periods to prevent leakage.
- Battery Replacement: Replace batteries as soon as the low battery indicator appears to maintain measurement accuracy and ensure proper device function.
8. Troubleshooting
| Issue | Possible Cause / Solution |
|---|---|
| Device does not power on. | Check battery installation and polarity. Replace batteries if depleted. |
| Inaccurate readings. | Ensure probes are making good contact. Check battery level. Verify correct function selection. |
| Display shows 'OL' (Overload). | The measured value exceeds the current range. This might indicate an open circuit or a value beyond the meter's maximum capability. |
| No continuity beep. | Ensure the circuit is complete and resistance is below the continuity threshold (typically 50Ω). |
