ANENG S1 Digital Multimeter User Manual

Model: S1 | Brand: ANENG

Introduction

The ANENG S1 is a battery-powered, auto-ranging, True RMS digital multimeter featuring a 4000-count LCD display. It is designed for professional and safe electrical measurements.

Safety Information

To avoid potential electric shock, fire, or personal injury, please read all safety information before using the product. Use the product only as specified. Before use, inspect the case for any cracks or missing plastic. Carefully check the insulation around the terminals.

Measurements must be performed within the allowable range. Do not use the device in explosive gas, vapor, or damp environments. If the voltage to be measured exceeds 36V DC or 25V AC, the operator must exercise extreme caution to avoid electric shock.

Misuse of the mode or range can lead to hazards. Be careful. If the input is out of range, "OL" will be displayed. Incorrect readings may occur if the battery level is low. Replace the battery if the battery door is not properly secured.

Setup

The ANENG S1 Multimeter requires 2 AAA batteries for operation. Ensure the batteries are correctly installed according to the polarity markings inside the battery compartment. Close the battery door securely before use.

The device comes with a rear support frame that allows it to be tilted on a table for convenient viewing during measurements.

Operating Instructions

General Operation

The ANENG S1 is an auto-ranging multimeter. Simply connect the test leads to the appropriate terminals and the device will automatically select the correct measurement range for most functions.

1. Voltage Measurement (DC/AC)

To measure DC or AC voltage, insert the red test lead into the V terminal and the black test lead into the COM terminal. The device will automatically match for DC or AC voltage. Touch the probes to the correct test points in the circuit to measure the voltage. The product will display a reading only if the voltage is higher than 0.8V. Read the measured voltage on the display.

2. Resistance Measurement

Insert the red test lead into the V terminal and the black test lead into the COM terminal. The resistance scale will be automatically matched. Touch the probes to the desired test points in the circuit to measure resistance. Read the measured resistance on the display.

3. Continuity Test

Insert the red test lead into the V terminal and the black test lead into the COM terminal. The continuity measurement will automatically match. Touch the probes to the desired test points in the circuit. The built-in buzzer will beep if the resistance is less than 50Ω, indicating a short circuit while the central LED light is illuminated.

4. NCV (Non-Contact Voltage) Test

Press and hold the NCV button to enter NCV mode. Hold the product and move it around. The built-in buzzer will beep when the internal sensor detects nearby AC voltage. The stronger the voltage, the faster the buzzer will beep while the central LED light flashes.

5. Current Measurement

Place the red test lead into the A mA terminal and the black test lead into the COM terminal. The current measurement will automatically match. Touch the probes to the correct test points in the circuit to measure the current. Read the measured current on the display. Note: If inputting current over 2 AMP, the test time should be less than 3 seconds. This product does not have a fuse to protect against overcurrent, so please do not overload test.

If the probes are in the current terminal but there is no operation, the product will alarm every 4 seconds to remind you that it is in current mode.

6. Backlight and Flashlight

The multimeter features an HD backlit screen for clear readings in various lighting conditions. Press the H/* button to turn on the screen light and see the screen value in a dark environment.

Maintenance

  • Keep the device clean and dry. Use a soft, damp cloth to wipe the exterior. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Store the multimeter in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • If the device will not be used for an extended period, remove the batteries to prevent leakage.
  • Regularly check the test leads for any signs of damage or wear. Replace them if necessary.

Troubleshooting

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
No display or dim displayLow battery or no battery installed.Replace the AAA batteries. Ensure correct polarity.
"OL" displayedMeasurement is out of range.Ensure the measurement is within the device's specified range. Check connections.
Inaccurate readingsLow battery. Incorrect mode/range selected (though auto-ranging). Damaged test leads.Replace batteries. Ensure test leads are fully inserted and undamaged.
No continuity beepResistance is above 50Ω.This is normal if the circuit is not a short. Check the circuit for open connections.
