- This heater is hot when in use. To avoid burns, do not let bare skin touch hot surfaces.
- Extreme caution is necessary when any heater is used by or near children or invalids and whenever the heater is left operating and unattended.
- The Vornado IR405 features a cool-touch exterior, tip-over protection, and an automatic safety shut-off system for enhanced safety.

Setup
Unpacking
Carefully remove the Vornado IR405 heater from its packaging. Ensure all packing materials are removed before use. The package should include the heater and an owner's guide.
Placement
Place the heater on a firm, level surface. The IR405 is designed for floor mounting. For optimal performance and safety, ensure the heater is placed in a location where air flow is not obstructed. This heater is suitable for various room types including bedrooms, home offices, and study rooms.

Power Connection
Plug the heater directly into a standard 120V AC wall outlet. Do not use extension cords, power strips, or surge protectors with this appliance. Ensure the plug is fully inserted into the outlet.

Power On/Off
Press the Power Button (usually indicated by a circle with a vertical line) to turn the heater on or off.
Heat Settings
The IR405 offers three heat settings and a fan-only option:
- Whole Room Low: Provides gentle heat circulation for the entire room.
- Whole Room High: Delivers robust heat circulation for the entire room using Vornado's V-Flow technology.
- Personal Zone: Focuses extra-warm heat to a specific area for personalized comfort.
- Fan Only: Circulates air without heat, useful for year-round air movement.
Use the mode selection buttons on the control panel to cycle through these settings.
Adjusting Temperature
Use the '+' and '-' buttons to set your desired temperature. The digital display will show the set temperature. The heater will automatically maintain the set temperature, cycling on and off as needed. Note that the minimum temperature setting is 60 degrees Fahrenheit.

Regular cleaning and maintenance ensure optimal performance and longevity of your Vornado IR405 heater.
Cleaning Instructions
- Always unplug the heater before cleaning.
- Use a soft, damp cloth to wipe the exterior surfaces of the heater. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- The care instructions specify "Hand Wipe" for cleaning.
- Periodically, use a vacuum cleaner with a brush attachment to clean any dust from the air intake and exhaust grilles.
- Do not immerse the heater in water or allow water to drip into the motor housing.
