Installation

The MARIE Automatic Door Closer supports three main installation methods: Regular Arm, Top Jamb, and Parallel Arm. Choose the method appropriate for your door and frame configuration.

General Installation Notes:

Installation Method 1: Regular Arm (Pull Side)

This method is suitable for doors that open inwards (pull side). The door closer body is mounted on the door, and the arm assembly is mounted on the door frame.

  1. Step 1: Mark Pilot Holes. According to the desired opening angle, select the appropriate installation dimensions from the template. Mark the pilot holes on the door and door frame.
  2. Step 2: Mount Main Body and Holder. Separate the rocker arm and screw stem. Drill the pilot holes. Mount the main door closer body onto the door using the provided screws. Mount the holder for the arm assembly onto the door frame. Ensure the regulating valve on the door closer body faces the door hinge.
  3. Step 3: Connect Arm Assembly. Using composite screws, connect the rocker arm to the main body.
  4. Step 4: Adjust Screw Stem Length. Adjust the length of the screw stem. Connect the rocker arm with the screw stem. Ensure the screw stem is perpendicular to the door when the door is closed.

Installation Method 2: Top Jamb (Push Side)

This method is used when the door opens outwards (push side). The door closer body is mounted on the door frame, and the arm assembly is mounted on the door.

  1. Step 1: Mark Pilot Holes. Based on the desired opening angle, select the appropriate installation dimensions from the template. Mark the pilot holes on the door and door frame.
  2. Step 2: Mount Main Body and Holder. Separate the rocker arm and screw stem. Drill the pilot holes. Mount the main door closer body onto the door frame. Mount the holder for the arm assembly onto the door. Ensure the regulating valve on the door closer body faces away from the door hinge.
  3. Step 3: Connect Arm Assembly. Using composite screws, connect the rocker arm to the main body.
  4. Step 4: Adjust Screw Stem Length. Adjust the length of the screw stem. Connect the rocker arm with the screw stem. Ensure the screw stem is parallel to the door when the door is closed.

Video 2: Top Jamb Installation Guide. This video illustrates the installation process for the top jamb configuration, typically used for doors opening outwards.

Installation Method 3: Parallel Arm (Push Side)

This method is also for doors that open outwards (push side), but the arm is mounted parallel to the door frame. This is often used when there isn't enough space for a top jamb mount or for aesthetic reasons.

  1. Step 1: Mark Pilot Holes. Based on the desired opening angle, select the appropriate installation dimensions from the template. Mark the pilot holes on the door and door frame.
  2. Step 2: Mount Main Body and Parallel Board. Separate the rocker arm and screw stem. Drill the pilot holes. Mount the main door closer body onto the door. Mount the parallel arm bracket onto the door frame. Ensure the regulating valve on the door closer body faces away from the door chain.

Video 3: Parallel Arm Installation Guide. This video demonstrates the parallel arm installation method, often preferred for outward-opening doors or specific aesthetic requirements.

Operating and Adjustment

The MARIE Automatic Door Closer features two independent valves for adjusting closing and latching speeds. These adjustments allow you to customize the door's closing behavior for optimal performance and safety.

Speed Adjustment Valves:

Attention: These valves must not be screwed out of the door closer body, as this will cause oil leakage and permanent damage.
