Introduction
This manual provides essential instructions for the safe and effective use of your Sony DSC-RX100M7 Cyber-Shot RX100 VII digital camera. Setup
1. Unpacking and Initial Inspection
Carefully remove all items from the packaging. Ensure the following components are present:
- Sony DSC-RX100M7 Camera Body
- Rechargeable Battery Pack (NP-BX1)
- AC Adapter
- Micro USB Cable
- Wrist Strap
- Strap Adapter
2. Charging the Battery
- Insert the NP-BX1 battery into the camera.
- Connect the camera to the AC adapter using the Micro USB cable.
- Plug the AC adapter into a wall outlet. The charge lamp will illuminate.
- Charging is complete when the charge lamp turns off.
3. Inserting a Memory Card
The camera supports SDXC memory cards. Ensure the card is inserted correctly to avoid damage.
- Open the battery/memory card cover on the bottom of the camera.
- Insert the memory card with the notched corner facing the correct direction until it clicks into place.

Operating the Camera
1. Powering On/Off
Press the ON/OFF button located on the top of the camera to power it on or off. The lens will extend when powered on.

2. Basic Shooting Modes
Rotate the mode dial on the top of the camera to select your desired shooting mode:
- AUTO: Camera automatically adjusts settings for optimal results.
- P (Program Auto): Allows some manual control while the camera sets exposure.
- A (Aperture Priority): You set the aperture, camera sets shutter speed.
- S (Shutter Priority): You set the shutter speed, camera sets aperture.
- M (Manual Exposure): Full manual control over aperture and shutter speed.
- Movie: For recording videos.
3. Focusing
The RX100 VII features a Fast Hybrid AF system with 315 phase-detection points and 425 contrast-detection points. You can select various focus modes:

4. Recording Videos

5. Using the Viewfinder and Tilting Screen
The camera features a retractable electronic viewfinder (EVF) and a 3-inch tilting LCD screen. Pull the FINDER switch on the side of the camera to extend the EVF. The LCD screen can be tilted for various shooting angles, including a 180-degree flip for vlogging.

6. Connectivity
The DSC-RX100M7 supports Wi-Fi and Bluetooth for wireless transfer of images and remote control via a smartphone app. It also includes a Micro USB port for data transfer and charging, and a Type D Micro HDMI port for video output.
