4. Setup and First Use

4.1 Unpacking

Carefully remove the iron from its packaging. Remove any protective films or stickers from the soleplate. Retain the packaging for future storage or transport.

4.2 Filling the Water Tank

  1. Ensure the iron is unplugged from the power outlet and the steam control is set to the 'Dry Ironing' position (minimum steam).
  2. Open the water tank filler cap.
  3. Using a measuring cup, carefully pour clean tap water into the water tank up to the 'MAX' fill line. Do not overfill.
  4. Close the filler cap securely.

Note: For areas with very hard water, it is recommended to use a mixture of 50% tap water and 50% distilled water to minimize scale build-up.

4.3 Retractable Cord

To extend the power cord, gently pull it out from the rear of the iron until it reaches the desired length. To retract the cord, press the cord retraction button located on the handle. Guide the cord as it retracts to prevent tangling.

4.4 Initial Heating

For the first use, or after prolonged storage, it is advisable to iron an old piece of fabric to remove any manufacturing residues from the soleplate. This may produce a slight odor or smoke, which is normal and will dissipate quickly.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Temperature Setting

  1. Plug the iron into a suitable power outlet.
  2. Turn the temperature control dial to the desired setting according to the fabric type. Refer to the fabric care labels on your garments.
  3. The indicator light will illuminate, indicating the iron is heating. It will turn off when the set temperature is reached.

Tip: Always start with lower temperature settings for delicate fabrics and gradually increase for heavier materials.

5.2 Steam Ironing

Steam ironing is effective for most fabrics. Ensure the water tank is filled (refer to Section 4.2). Set the temperature to a steam-suitable setting (usually indicated on the dial). Once the iron reaches temperature, adjust the steam control to the desired steam output.

5.3 Steam Burst Function

For stubborn creases, press the 'Steam Burst' button. This releases a powerful jet of steam. Wait a few seconds between bursts to allow the iron to reheat and produce optimal steam. Use only at high temperatures.

5.4 Vertical Ironing

The vertical ironing feature allows you to remove wrinkles from hanging clothes, curtains, or drapes. Hold the iron vertically a few centimeters away from the fabric and press the 'Steam Burst' button. Ensure the iron is at its maximum temperature setting for best results.

5.5 Dry Ironing

For dry ironing, ensure the water tank is empty or the steam control is set to the 'Dry Ironing' position. Set the desired temperature and wait for the indicator light to turn off before ironing.

5.6 After Ironing

After use, turn the temperature dial to the 'MIN' position, unplug the iron, and empty any remaining water from the tank. Allow the iron to cool completely before storing.

6. Maintenance and Cleaning

6.1 Cleaning the Soleplate

To clean the ceramic soleplate, ensure the iron is unplugged and completely cool. Wipe the soleplate with a damp cloth and a non-abrasive cleaner if necessary. Do not use harsh scouring pads or metallic cleaners, as these can damage the ceramic coating.

6.2 Anti-Scale System

The iron is equipped with an anti-scale system to reduce mineral deposits. While this system helps, regular cleaning and using a water mixture (as mentioned in Section 4.2) in hard water areas will further extend the iron's life and performance. Do not attempt to remove or modify the anti-scale cartridge.

6.3 Storage

Once the iron has cooled down completely and the water tank is empty, retract the power cord. Store the iron upright on its heel rest in a dry, safe place, away from direct sunlight and moisture.

7. Troubleshooting

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Iron does not heat up.Not plugged in; power outlet faulty; temperature dial set to MIN; thermal fuse tripped.Check power connection; try another outlet; set temperature dial to desired heat; if fuse tripped, contact service.
No steam or insufficient steam.Water tank empty; temperature too low for steam; steam control set to 'Dry'; steam vents clogged.Fill water tank; increase temperature setting; adjust steam control; clean soleplate vents.
Water dripping from soleplate.Temperature too low for steam (anti-drip active); water tank overfilled; filler cap not closed properly.Increase temperature; do not overfill tank; ensure filler cap is secure.
White flakes coming from soleplate.Mineral deposits (scale) in the water tank.Use distilled water or a 50/50 mix in hard water areas. The anti-scale system helps, but cannot eliminate all deposits.
