3.1 Components

4. Setup
4.1 Battery Installation
- Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the device.
- Slide the cover open.
- Insert two (2) AAA alkaline batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-). The device includes batteries.
- Close the battery compartment cover securely.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Power On/Off
- To Power On: Press the [MEAS] button. The laser will activate.
- To Power Off: Press and hold the [OFF] button for a few seconds. The device will also automatically power off after a period of inactivity to save battery.
5.2 Measurement Modes
Press the [FUNC] button to cycle through the different measurement modes.
5.2.1 Single Measurement
- Point the device at the target.
- Press the [MEAS] button once to activate the laser.
- Press the [MEAS] button again to take a single measurement. The result will appear on the display.
5.2.2 Continuous Measurement (Tracking)
- Select continuous measurement mode using the [FUNC] button.
- Press the [MEAS] button. The device will continuously measure and display the distance as you move it.
- Press [MEAS] again to stop continuous measurement.
5.2.3 Area Measurement
- Select area measurement mode.
- Measure the first side (e.g., length) by pressing [MEAS].
- Measure the second side (e.g., width) by pressing [MEAS] again.
- The device will automatically calculate and display the area.
5.2.4 Volume Measurement
- Select volume measurement mode.
- Measure the length, width, and height sequentially by pressing [MEAS] after each measurement.
- The device will calculate and display the volume.
5.2.5 Pythagorean Calculation (Indirect Measurement)
This mode allows indirect measurement of heights or distances using the Pythagorean theorem.
- Select Pythagorean mode (e.g., for two-point or three-point measurement).
- Follow the on-screen prompts to measure the required sides (e.g., hypotenuse and one leg for height).
- The device will calculate and display the unknown side.
5.2.6 Angle Measurement
This mode allows for the measurement of angles, often in conjunction with indirect height measurements.
- Select angle measurement mode.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to position the device and take the necessary measurements.
- The angle will be displayed.
6. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Use a soft, damp cloth to clean the device. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents. Pay special attention to keeping the laser lens clean.
- Storage: Store the device in a dry, cool place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. If storing for extended periods, remove the batteries to prevent leakage.
- Battery Replacement: Replace batteries when the low battery indicator appears on the display.
