Ensure the drill's voltage matches your power supply. Plug the power cord into a suitable electrical outlet. Always check the power cord for damage before use.
6. Operating Instructions
6.1 Mode Selection
The Kress 800 PE features a mode selector switch to choose between different operating modes:
- Hammer Drilling: For drilling in concrete, stone, and masonry. The rotation and hammer action are engaged.
- Rotary Drilling: For drilling in wood, metal, and plastics. Only rotation is engaged (hammer action stop).
- Chiseling: For light chiseling work. Only hammer action is engaged (rotation stop with spindle lock).
Rotate the mode selector switch to the desired symbol. Ensure the switch is fully engaged in the selected position before starting the drill.
6.2 Starting and Stopping the Drill
- To Start: Press the ON/OFF trigger switch.
- To Stop: Release the ON/OFF trigger switch.
- Continuous Operation: For continuous operation, press the ON/OFF trigger switch and then press the lock-on button. To switch off, press the ON/OFF trigger switch again.
6.3 Using the Drilling Depth Gauge
The drilling depth gauge allows you to pre-set a specific drilling depth. Adjust the gauge to the desired depth relative to the tip of the drill bit. When drilling, stop once the end of the depth gauge touches the workpiece surface.
6.4 Reverse Rotation
The drill features a reverse rotation function, useful for removing jammed drill bits or for driving/removing screws when using appropriate accessories. The direction of rotation is typically changed via a switch located near the trigger.
6.5 Safety Friction Clutch
In the event of the drill bit jamming, the integrated safety friction clutch will disengage the drive to protect the user from sudden rotational forces and prevent damage to the tool. Immediately release the trigger if the clutch activates.
7. Maintenance
7.1 Cleaning
Regularly clean the ventilation slots of the drill to prevent overheating. Use a soft brush or compressed air to remove dust and debris. Do not use water or chemical cleaning agents.
7.2 Storage
Store the drill in a dry, secure location, out of reach of children. Protect it from moisture and extreme temperatures. The provided Klick-Box professional carrying case is ideal for storage and transport.
8. Troubleshooting
If the drill does not operate correctly, first check the power supply and ensure the plug is securely inserted. Verify that the mode selector switch is correctly engaged. If issues persist, consult a qualified service technician. Do not attempt to repair the tool yourself.
