2. Safety Information
Always observe the following safety precautions during installation and use:
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses and gloves during installation.
- Handle glass panels with extreme care to prevent breakage and injury. Tempered glass, while strong, can shatter into small pieces if damaged at the edges.
- Ensure the installation surface (wall) is structurally sound and capable of supporting the weight of the shower screen (approximately 32 kg).
- Use only the provided hardware or suitable alternatives recommended by the manufacturer.
- Do not overtighten screws, as this can damage components.
- Keep children and pets away from the installation area.
- If you are unsure about any part of the installation process, consult a qualified professional.
3. Package Contents
Before beginning installation, verify that all components are present and undamaged:
- 1 x Shower Screen Wall (FAC350)
- Aluminum frame profiles (black matte finish)
- Tempered glass panel (5 mm thick, upper part of door)
- Aluminum composite panel (5 mm thick, lower part of door)
- Metal handle (black matte finish)
- Magnetic closure mechanism
- Mounting hardware (screws, wall plugs, seals)
4. Setup & Installation
The AURLANE FAC350 shower screen features a reversible design for flexible installation. Follow these steps carefully:
4.1. Preparation
- Unpack all components and inspect them for any damage.
- Ensure the installation area is clean, dry, and level.
- Gather necessary tools: drill, spirit level, measuring tape, screwdriver, silicone sealant, pencil.
4.2. Wall Profile Installation
- Position the wall profiles against the wall at the desired location. Use a spirit level to ensure they are perfectly vertical.
- Mark the drilling points through the pre-drilled holes in the profiles.
- Drill holes at the marked points and insert appropriate wall plugs.
- Secure the wall profiles to the wall using the provided screws. The profiles are adjustable by +/- 1 cm to accommodate slight variations.
4.3. Door Assembly and Mounting
- Assemble the swing door, which consists of an upper tempered glass part and a lower aluminum composite part, within the black matte aluminum frame.
- Attach the metal handle to the door.
- Mount the assembled door onto the wall profiles using the hinge mechanism. Ensure the door swings freely and aligns correctly.
- Install the magnetic closure mechanism to ensure the door closes securely.
- Apply a waterproof silicone sealant along all exterior joints between the shower screen and the wall/shower tray to prevent leaks. Allow adequate drying time as per sealant instructions.
Note: The shower screen dimensions are 80 x 200 cm, with an adjustable width from 78.5 cm to 80 cm. The door opening is approximately 53 cm.
5. Operation
The AURLANE FAC350 features a swing door design for easy access.
- To open the door, gently pull the black matte metal handle.
- To close the door, push it until the magnetic closure engages, ensuring a secure seal.
- Always ensure the door is fully closed before operating the shower to prevent water leakage.
6. Maintenance
Regular cleaning and maintenance will prolong the life and appearance of your shower screen.
- Cleaning Glass: Use a soft cloth and a non-abrasive glass cleaner. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive sponges that can scratch the glass or damage the frame finish.
- Cleaning Frame: Wipe the black matte aluminum frame with a soft, damp cloth. For stubborn stains, use a mild, non-abrasive cleaner specifically designed for aluminum.
- Seals: Regularly check the silicone seals for any signs of wear or mold. Clean with appropriate bathroom cleaner. Reapply sealant if necessary to maintain watertight integrity.
- Hinges and Moving Parts: Periodically check hinges and the magnetic closure for proper function. If they become stiff, a small amount of silicone-based lubricant can be applied, avoiding contact with glass.
- Avoid: Do not use acidic, alkaline, or abrasive cleaning agents, as these can damage the finish and materials.
7. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Water leakage from seals. | Damaged or improperly applied silicone sealant. | Inspect seals. Clean and reapply silicone sealant where necessary. Ensure proper drying time. |
| Door does not close properly. | Misaligned door or magnetic strip. Obstruction in hinge. | Check door alignment. Adjust wall profiles if needed (within +/- 1 cm). Clean hinges. Ensure magnetic strips are clean and intact. |
| Door is stiff to open/close. | Dirty hinges or lack of lubrication. | Clean hinges thoroughly. Apply a small amount of silicone-based lubricant to moving parts. |
| Glass appears cloudy or stained. | Hard water deposits or soap scum buildup. | Clean with a specialized glass cleaner for hard water stains. Regular cleaning after each use can prevent buildup. |
