Introduction

This manual provides instructions for the setup, operation, and maintenance of your Cirbic Loud Talking Alarm Clock with Time and Temperature. This device is designed to assist users with low vision or blindness by audibly announcing the time and indoor temperature, in addition to displaying them on a clear LCD screen.

Note: 2 AA batteries are required and are not included in the package.

Setup

1. Battery Installation

  1. Locate the battery compartment on the bottom of the clock.
  2. Open the battery compartment cover.
  3. Insert two (2) AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+ and -).
  4. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

2. Initial Power-On

Once batteries are installed, the clock will power on automatically. The display will show a default time and temperature. You will need to set the current time, date, and alarm preferences.

Operating Instructions

Button Functions

The clock features several buttons on its top surface for various functions. Refer to Figure 3 for button placement.

  • MODE Button: Used to cycle through different display modes (Time, Alarm, Date) and setting modes.
  • SET Button: Used to confirm selections during setting procedures.
  • UP Button: Used to increase values or navigate options during setting.
  • DOWN Button: Used to decrease values or navigate options during setting.
  • TALKING/LIGHT Button (Large Center Button): Press once to announce the current time and temperature. Press and hold for backlight activation.

Setting Time and Date

  1. Press the MODE button repeatedly until the display shows the time.
  2. Press and hold the SET button until the hour digits begin to flash. The clock will audibly announce the setting mode.
  3. Use the UP or DOWN buttons to adjust the hour. The clock will announce the hour as you adjust it.
  4. Press SET to confirm the hour and move to setting the minutes.
  5. Use the UP or DOWN buttons to adjust the minutes.
  6. Press SET to confirm the minutes and move to setting the year.
  7. Continue this process, using UP/DOWN to adjust and SET to confirm, for Year, Month, and Day.
  8. After setting the day, press SET one last time to exit the time/date setting mode.

Setting Alarm

  1. Press the MODE button until "ALARM" is displayed.
  2. Press and hold the SET button until the alarm hour digits flash.
  3. Use the UP or DOWN buttons to set the desired alarm hour.
  4. Press SET to confirm the hour and move to setting the alarm minutes.
  5. Use the UP or DOWN buttons to set the desired alarm minutes.
  6. Press SET to confirm the minutes.
  7. Next, you can select the alarm sound (beep or musical chime) using UP or DOWN. Press SET to confirm.
  8. Finally, press SET to exit alarm setting mode. The alarm icon will appear on the display, indicating the alarm is active.

To activate/deactivate the alarm, press the UP button briefly when in Alarm display mode. The alarm icon will appear or disappear.

When the alarm sounds, press the TALKING/LIGHT button to activate the snooze function. The alarm will sound again after approximately 5 minutes. To turn off the alarm completely, press any other button.

Hourly Chime Settings

The clock can announce the time hourly. There are three modes:

  • OFF: No hourly announcement.
  • 24-Hour: Announces time every hour, all day.
  • 16-Hour: Announces time every hour from 7:00 AM to 10:00 PM.

To change the hourly chime setting:

  1. Press the MODE button until the display shows the current hourly chime status (e.g., "CHIME ON 24H" or "CHIME OFF").
  2. Use the UP or DOWN buttons to cycle through the three modes.
  3. The clock will automatically save your selection after a few seconds of inactivity.

Temperature Unit and Time Format

To switch between Celsius (°C) and Fahrenheit (°F) for temperature display and announcement, press the DOWN button briefly when the clock is in normal time display mode.

To switch between 12-hour and 24-hour time format, press the UP button briefly when the clock is in normal time display mode.

Activating Time/Temperature Announcement and Backlight

Press the large TALKING/LIGHT button on top of the clock to hear the current time and indoor temperature announced in a clear female voice.

To activate the green backlight for nighttime viewing, press and hold the TALKING/LIGHT button. The backlight will illuminate the display for a few seconds.

Maintenance

Cleaning

Wipe the clock with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents, as these may damage the surface or electronic components.

Battery Replacement

When the display dims or the voice announcement becomes unclear, it is time to replace the batteries. Follow the battery installation steps in the "Setup" section. Always replace both AA batteries at the same time with new ones.

Troubleshooting
