6.1. Navigating the Menu

Use the directional buttons (Up, Down, Left, Right) and the "OK" button to navigate through the menu options displayed on the LCD screen. Select the desired test mode.

6.2. Voltage & Polarity Testing

Touch the probe tip to the circuit or component to be tested. The LCD screen will display the voltage reading. The Red/Green LED indicator will light up red for positive voltage and green for negative voltage (ground).

6.3. Continuity Testing

In continuity mode, touch the probe tip to one end of the circuit and the auxiliary ground lead to the other. The tool will indicate if there is continuity (a complete circuit) and may provide an audible tone.

6.4. Signal Circuit Testing

This mode allows for testing various signal circuits within the vehicle. Refer to the on-screen prompts for specific signal types and expected readings.

6.5. Activating Components

The VSP200 can safely activate components both in-hand and in the vehicle. Connect the probe tip to the component's power input. Use the tool's activation function to supply power or ground. CAUTION: Ensure the component is suitable for direct power application and observe current draw to prevent damage.

6.6. Multimeter Mode

The multimeter mode provides precise measurements for:

  • DC Voltage: Measure direct current voltage.
  • AC Voltage: Measure alternating current voltage.
  • Resistance: Measure electrical resistance in Ohms.
  • Diode Test: Check the functionality of diodes.

6.7. Relay Test

Use the dedicated relay test port to quickly check the functionality of automotive relays. Follow the on-screen instructions for connecting and testing relays.

6.8. Short Circuit Detection

The VSP200 can assist in following and locating short circuits. By applying power and observing the circuit breaker, you can trace the path of a short.

6.9. Checking for Bad Ground Contacts

Use the continuity test or voltage drop test to identify poor ground connections, which can cause various electrical issues.
