3.3 Priming the Machine

4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Preheating
For best results, always preheat your machine and cups:
- Turn on the machine and allow it to heat for at least 15-20 minutes.
- Place your espresso cups on the heated die-cast top plate to warm them.

4.2 Making Espresso
- Grind Coffee: Use freshly roasted coffee beans and grind them to a fine consistency suitable for espresso.
- Fill Portafilter: Place the desired filter basket (1-cup or 2-cup, pressurized or non-pressurized) into the portafilter. Fill with ground coffee.
- Tamp Coffee: Use the heavy-duty metal tamper to press the coffee grounds firmly and evenly.
- Attach Portafilter: Insert the portafilter into the group head and twist firmly to lock it into place.
- Place Cups: Position one or two preheated espresso cups under the portafilter spouts.
- Extract Espresso: Press the 'Program' button for a single or double shot. The machine will automatically dispense the correct amount of espresso. Monitor the pressure gauge for optimal extraction (within the 'Espresso Range').

4.3 Steaming Milk
- Fill the 12oz stainless steel milk frothing pitcher with cold milk (dairy or non-dairy).
- Press the 'Steam Preheat' button and wait for the machine to reach steaming temperature.
- Position the steam wand just below the surface of the milk. Turn the steam/hot water dial to 'Steam'.
- Lower the pitcher as the milk expands, keeping the wand tip just below the surface to create microfoam.
- Once desired texture and temperature are reached, turn the dial back to 'Stand By' and remove the pitcher. Wipe the steam wand immediately with a damp cloth.

4.4 Hot Water Dispenser
- Place a cup under the hot water dispenser wand.
- Turn the steam/hot water dial to 'Water' to dispense hot water for Americanos, tea, or other hot beverages.
- Turn the dial back to 'Stand By' when finished.

5. Maintenance and Cleaning
5.1 Daily Cleaning
- Drip Tray: Empty and clean the drip tray daily. It is removable for easy access.
- Steam Wand: Immediately after each use, wipe the steam wand with a damp cloth to prevent milk residue buildup. Purge the wand briefly by turning the steam dial to release any remaining milk.
- Portafilter and Filter Baskets: Remove spent coffee grounds and rinse the portafilter and filter baskets under hot water.
- Group Head: Use a damp cloth to wipe the group head area.
5.2 Descaling
Regular descaling is crucial to maintain machine performance and extend its lifespan. The frequency depends on water hardness and usage.
- Use a commercial descaling solution specifically designed for espresso machines.
- Follow the instructions provided with the descaling solution and your machine's detailed manual for the descaling process.
- Always rinse the machine thoroughly with fresh water after descaling.
