4. Setup and Installation

4.1. SD Card Insertion and Formatting

  1. Insert the provided 32GB SD card into the dash cam's SD card slot.
  2. Before first use, or if you experience recording issues, format the SD card through the dash cam's settings menu. It is recommended to format the SD card approximately twice a month to ensure optimal performance and prevent data corruption.

4.2. Main Unit Installation

  1. Attach the mirror dash cam to your vehicle's existing rearview mirror using the provided mounting straps. Ensure it is securely fastened and does not obstruct your view.
  2. Adjust the front camera lens to capture the desired view of the road ahead.

4.3. Rear Camera Installation

  1. Mount the rear camera on the rear windshield or near the license plate, ensuring a clear view of the road behind.
  2. Route the rear camera cable to the main unit, ensuring it does not interfere with airbags or other vehicle components. Connect the rear camera cable to the designated port on the main unit.

4.4. GPS Module Connection

  • Connect the GPS module to the main unit. Place the GPS module on the dashboard or another location with a clear view of the sky for optimal signal reception.

4.5. Power Connection

  • Connect the power cable to the dash cam and plug it into your vehicle's 12V power outlet (cigarette lighter socket).
  • Use only the original AZDOME power cord. Using incompatible power cords may affect the device's normal operation.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1. Power On/Off

  • The dash cam will automatically power on and begin recording when the vehicle's ignition is turned on.
  • It will automatically power off when the ignition is turned off.
  • To manually power on/off, press and hold the power button located on the bottom side of the screen.

5.2. Screen Display Modes

The dash cam offers four display modes, which can be cycled by tapping the screen:

  • Rear Camera View: Displays only the rear camera feed.
  • Front Camera View: Displays only the front camera feed.
  • Split-Screen View: Displays both front and rear camera feeds simultaneously.
  • Screen Off (Mirror Mode): The LCD screen turns off, allowing the device to function as a traditional rearview mirror while still recording in the background. Press the power button briefly to toggle this mode.

5.3. Touch Screen Controls

  • Brightness Adjustment: Swipe your finger horizontally across the screen to adjust the display brightness.
  • Camera Angle Adjustment: Tap the screen once to reveal icons, then tap the up/down arrow icon to adjust the vertical viewing angle of the camera display. This allows you to optimize the view regardless of the camera's physical mounting position.

5.4. Recording Functions

  • Loop Recording: The device continuously records video in segments (1, 2, or 3 minutes). When the SD card is full, the oldest unlocked files are automatically overwritten.
  • G-Sensor Emergency Recording: In the event of a sudden impact or collision, the built-in G-sensor will detect the event and automatically lock the current video file, preventing it from being overwritten by loop recording. This ensures critical evidence is preserved.

5.5. GPS Data Playback

When the GPS module is connected, the dash cam records location, speed, and time data along with the video footage. This data can be viewed using the dedicated "AZDOME Player" software on your computer (compatible with Windows and Mac systems).
