Product Overview
The NICREW 20W Saltwater Aquarium Light is a high-performance LED reef light designed to provide optimal lighting for saltwater aquariums, supporting various marine life including fish, live rock, soft corals, and LPS corals. This light features a sophisticated combination of LEDs and a programmable timer controller to simulate natural light cycles.
- Advanced LED Spectrum: Features 445nm and 460nm blue, 10,000K white, and RGB LEDs, providing a higher ratio of actinic blue spectrum balanced with full spectrum for ideal saltwater environments.
- Programmable Timer Controller: Includes a day+night controller that allows adjustment of lighting spectrum and simulates gradual sunrise and fading sunset through light intensity changes.
- Versatile Coral Support: One light supports saltwater fish, live rock, soft coral, and LPS corals. For low light SPS corals, two lights are recommended.
- Adjustable Design: Available in multiple sizes with extendable brackets to fit both rimless and framed aquariums from 18 to 24 inches in length.
- Durability Recommendation: A glass or acrylic canopy is highly recommended to protect the unit from moisture and extend its lifespan.

Controller Functions:
- Setting Time: Use the 'Set' button (gear icon) to enter time setting mode. Use '+' and '-' buttons to adjust hours and minutes. Press 'OK' to confirm.
- Brightness Adjustment: The controller allows independent adjustment of white (W) and blue (B) LED brightness from 0% to 100%. Use the '+' and '-' buttons to change values when in brightness adjustment mode.
- Automatic ON/OFF: Program the light to automatically turn on and off at specific times, simulating natural daylight and moonlight cycles.
- Sunrise & Sunset Simulation: The controller gradually increases light intensity in the morning and decreases it in the evening, mimicking natural sunrise and sunset effects for a smoother transition for your aquatic inhabitants.
Lighting Modes:
The light offers three distinct lighting modes to suit different needs:

Figure 4: Visual representation of the three available lighting modes.
- Mode 1: All LEDs On - Provides full spectrum lighting with all white, blue, and RGB LEDs illuminated. Ideal for general viewing and strong growth.
- Mode 2: White LEDs On and Red+Green Components of RGB LEDs - Focuses on white light with red and green accents from the RGB LEDs. Suitable for daytime viewing and enhancing certain colors.
- Mode 3: All Blue LEDs On and Blue Component of RGB LEDs - Emphasizes blue light, perfect for simulating moonlight or actinic conditions, beneficial for corals and nighttime viewing.
Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your aquarium light.
- Cleaning the Fixture: Periodically wipe the light fixture and LED surface with a soft, damp cloth to remove dust, salt creep, or water spots. Ensure the light is unplugged before cleaning. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Controller Care: Keep the controller dry and clean. Avoid exposing it to direct water splashes.
- Canopy Use: As mentioned in setup, using a glass or acrylic canopy significantly reduces moisture exposure to the light, preventing corrosion and extending its operational life.
- Cable Inspection: Regularly inspect the power cord and connections for any signs of damage or wear. If damage is found, discontinue use immediately and contact customer support.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your NICREW Aquarium Light, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
