4. Setup Instructions
4.1 Mounting the Spindle Motor
- Ensure your CNC machine is powered off and disconnected from the main power source.
- Secure the 52mm spindle clamp to the Z-axis of your CNC machine using appropriate hardware. Note: For 3018 series CNC machines, an additional 52mm diameter motor mount may be required. The Genmitsu Aluminum Z Axis Spindle Motor Mount (B0BXRX85WM) is a compatible option.
- Insert the 300W spindle motor into the 52mm clamp and tighten the clamp screws to hold it firmly in place.

4.2 Wiring the Power Supply and Spindle
- Connect the AC input of the power supply to a suitable power source (100-120V AC or 200-240V AC, depending on your region and power supply model). Ensure proper grounding.
- Connect the red wire from the spindle motor to the '+V' terminal on the power supply's DC output.
- Connect the black wire from the spindle motor to the '-V' terminal on the power supply's DC output.
- Connect the speed control potentiometer to the designated terminals on the power supply for variable voltage output control. Refer to the power supply's specific wiring diagram for precise connections.

5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Powering On and Speed Adjustment
- After ensuring all connections are secure and correct, connect the power supply to the main power source.
- Use the speed control potentiometer to adjust the output voltage. Turning the knob will vary the DC voltage supplied to the spindle motor, thereby changing its rotational speed.
- Monitor the spindle speed. The approximate speeds are: 12V for 3000 r/min, 24V for 6000 r/min, 36V for 9000 r/min, and 48V for 12000 r/min.

5.2 Tool Installation (ER11 Collet)
- Ensure the spindle motor is completely stopped and powered off before changing tools.
- Unscrew the ER11 collet nut from the spindle shaft.
- Insert the desired ER11 collet into the collet nut.
- Insert the cutting tool (end mill, engraving bit, etc.) into the collet. Ensure the tool shank matches the collet size.
- Screw the collet nut with the tool back onto the spindle shaft and tighten it securely using a wrench. Do not overtighten.
6. Maintenance
- Regular Cleaning: Keep the spindle motor and power supply free from dust and debris. Use compressed air to clean the cooling fins of the spindle and the vents of the power supply.
- Check Connections: Periodically inspect all electrical connections for tightness and signs of wear or damage.
- Spindle Clamp: Ensure the spindle clamp remains securely tightened to prevent movement during operation.
- Brush Replacement: As a brush DC motor, the carbon brushes will wear over time. Refer to Genmitsu support for guidance on brush inspection and replacement if performance degrades.
7. Troubleshooting
- Spindle Not Spinning:
- Check all power connections to the power supply and from the power supply to the spindle motor.
- Ensure the power supply is receiving AC input.
- Verify the potentiometer is correctly wired and adjusted.
- Inconsistent Spindle Speed:
- Check for loose wiring connections.
- Ensure the potentiometer is functioning correctly.
- Verify the load on the spindle is not excessive, as output current is load-dependent.
- Excessive Vibration/Noise:
- Ensure the spindle motor is securely mounted in its clamp.
- Check if the ER11 collet and cutting tool are properly installed and balanced.
- Inspect the spindle's internal fan for any obstructions or imbalance.
- Motor Overheating:
- Ensure adequate airflow around the spindle motor and power supply.
- Verify the cooling fan on the spindle is operating.
- Reduce the cutting depth or feed rate if the motor is consistently overheating during operation.
