Maintenance
Regular cleaning is essential for maintaining the accuracy and longevity of your currency counter. Dust and debris can accumulate on sensors and rollers, leading to errors or jams.
Cleaning Procedure:
- Power Off and Unplug: Always turn off the unit and unplug it from the power outlet before cleaning.
- Dust Removal: Use a soft brush or compressed air to remove dust and lint from the hopper, stacker, and internal sensors. Pay close attention to the bill path.
- Sensor Cleaning: Gently wipe the UV, MG, and IR sensors with a soft, lint-free cloth, possibly dampened with a small amount of isopropyl alcohol if necessary. Ensure sensors are dry before use.
- Roller Cleaning: Clean the rubber rollers with a soft cloth. If rollers appear worn or dirty, they may affect bill feeding.
- Exterior Cleaning: Wipe the exterior of the unit with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Frequency: Clean the unit regularly, especially if you experience frequent error codes or miscounts.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Machine jams frequently. | Bills are not properly aligned; worn or dirty rollers; foreign objects in bill path; bill thickness setting incorrect. | Straighten bills before loading. Clean rollers and bill path. Adjust bill thickness if applicable (refer to specific model controls). |
| Inaccurate counts. | Dirty sensors; bills are stuck together; worn rollers. | Clean all sensors. Ensure bills are separated. Clean or replace rollers if heavily worn. |
| Counterfeit detection errors. | Dirty UV/MG/IR sensors; damaged or very old bills; actual counterfeit bill. | Clean counterfeit detection sensors. Try counting the bill again. If it consistently flags, it may be counterfeit. |
| Display screen not working correctly (e.g., only some numbers light up). | Internal component failure; loose connection. | Power cycle the machine. If the problem persists, contact customer support for service. |
| Machine does not start. | No power; power switch off; hopper empty. | Check power cord connection and outlet. Ensure power switch is on. Place bills in hopper for auto-start. |
