3.2 Search Modes
The detector offers multiple search modes optimized for different environments:
- All Metal: Detects all types of metal without discrimination.
- Field: Optimized for general relic hunting in fields.
- Park: Ideal for coin and jewelry hunting in parks.
- Beach: Specifically designed for wet sand and saltwater conditions.
Select the appropriate mode using the mode selection button on the control panel.
3.3 Discrimination and Sensitivity
Adjust discrimination settings to filter out unwanted targets (e.g., iron). Sensitivity can be adjusted to increase detection depth or reduce interference in highly mineralized ground. Refer to the user manual for detailed instructions on adjusting these settings.
3.4 Audio and Vibration
The Simplex+ provides audio alerts for detected targets. Volume can be adjusted. For underwater use or in noisy environments, the detector also features a vibration mode to alert you to targets.
4. Maintenance
- Cleaning: As the detector is waterproof (IP68 rated), it can be rinsed with fresh water after use, especially after detecting in saltwater or muddy conditions. Ensure all ports are sealed before rinsing.
- Battery Charging: The detector uses 1 Lithium Polymer battery (included). Recharge the battery using the provided USB cable.
- Storage: Store the detector in a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight. For long-term storage, ensure the battery is partially charged.
5. Troubleshooting
- False Signals: Reduce sensitivity or adjust ground balance. Ensure the coil cable is tightly wrapped around the shaft.
- No Power: Check battery charge. Ensure the power button is pressed and held correctly.
- Interference: Use the frequency shift function to minimize electromagnetic interference from other detectors or power lines.
- Firmware Updates: The Nokta Simplex+ supports firmware updates. Regularly check the manufacturer's website for the latest software to improve performance and add new features.
