Introduction
This manual provides instructions for the BOMAZ Replacement Remote Control, designed to operate various Pioneer AV Receiver models. This remote offers stable performance and is ready for use without complex programming.
Setup
1. Battery Installation
The remote control requires two (2) AA batteries (not included) for operation. Follow these steps to install the batteries:
- Locate the battery compartment on the back of the remote control.
- Slide the battery compartment cover downwards to open it.
- Insert two AA batteries, ensuring the positive (+) and negative (-) terminals align correctly with the markings inside the compartment.
- Slide the battery compartment cover back into place until it clicks securely.

2. Initial Use
This replacement remote control is pre-programmed and does not require any additional setup or programming. Once batteries are installed, it is ready for immediate use with compatible Pioneer AV Receivers.
Operating Instructions
Point the remote control directly at your Pioneer AV Receiver. The operable distance is more than 8 meters (approximately 26 feet).

Key Functions:
- Power Button: Turns the AV Receiver on or off.
- Input Selectors (e.g., DVD/LD, TV/SAT, VCR/DVR, CD, TUNER): Selects the desired audio/video input source.
- Volume Up/Down: Adjusts the master volume level.
- Muting: Mutes or unmutes the audio output.
- Channel Up/Down: Navigates through channels (if applicable to the selected input).
- Navigation Buttons (Up, Down, Left, Right, Enter): Used for menu navigation and selection within the AV Receiver's interface.
- DSP Mode: Cycles through various Digital Signal Processing modes.
- Function Buttons (FUNC): Accesses additional functions specific to your AV Receiver model.
- Number Pad (0-9): Direct input for channels or other numerical settings.

Maintenance
Battery Replacement:
If the remote control's performance degrades or it stops responding, replace both AA batteries. Always replace old batteries with new ones of the same type. Do not mix old and new batteries, or different types of batteries.
Cleaning:
To clean the remote control, wipe it gently with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners, abrasive pads, or chemical solvents, as these may damage the remote's surface or internal components.
Troubleshooting
- Remote not responding:
- Ensure batteries are installed correctly with the correct polarity.
- Replace old batteries with new ones.
- Check for any obstructions between the remote control and the AV Receiver's infrared sensor.
- Ensure you are within the operable distance (within 8 meters) and pointing the remote directly at the receiver.
- Only some buttons are working:
- This can sometimes indicate low battery power. Try replacing the batteries.
- Ensure the remote is clean and there is no debris obstructing button presses.
- Verify that the specific function you are trying to use is supported by your Pioneer AV Receiver model.
