1. Introduction
This manual provides detailed instructions for the installation, operation, and maintenance of your Proventa LED Stair Lighting Kit. This system is designed to enhance safety and ambiance on staircases by providing warm white, indirect illumination.
The kit is suitable for indoor use and features energy-efficient LED technology. Please read these instructions carefully before installation and retain them for future reference.
2. Package Contents
Verify that all components listed below are present in your package:
- 15 x LED Strips, self-adhesive, with connection cable (each approx. 80 x 0.8 x 0.3 cm)
- 1 x Main Connection Cable (approx. 7 meters in length, with 15 branches)
- 1 x Power Supply Unit with Euro Plug (input 230V/50Hz, output 3000mA, cable length approx. 150 cm)
- 1 x Assembly and Installation Manual (this document)

3. Safety Instructions
- Always disconnect the power supply before installation, maintenance, or troubleshooting.
- Ensure the installation surface is clean, dry, and smooth for optimal adhesion of the LED strips.
- Do not cut or modify the LED strips or cables, as this may damage the product and void the warranty.
- Keep the power supply unit away from water and moisture.
- This product is designed for indoor use only.
- If using optional accessories like motion sensors or timers, ensure they are compatible with the system's electrical specifications.
- Installation should be performed by a qualified person if you are unsure about electrical connections.
4. Installation Guide
Follow these steps for a successful installation:
4.1. Preparation
- Plan Layout: Determine the exact placement of each LED strip on your staircase. The kit includes 15 strips, suitable for 15 steps.
- Clean Surface: Thoroughly clean and dry the underside of each stair tread where the LED strips will be attached. Ensure the surface is free of dust, grease, and debris. This is crucial for the self-adhesive backing.
- Test Fit: Before removing the adhesive backing, temporarily position the LED strips and the main connection cable to ensure proper length and routing.
4.2. Attaching LED Strips
- Carefully peel off the protective film from the self-adhesive backing of an LED strip.
- Press the LED strip firmly onto the prepared surface of the stair tread. Apply even pressure along the entire length to ensure good adhesion.
- Repeat for all 15 LED strips.
- Note: For carpeted or uneven surfaces, special aluminum profiles (sold separately) may be required for secure mounting.
4.3. Connecting Cables
- Route the main connection cable discreetly along the staircase. The main cable has 15 branches, each 20 cm long, designed to connect to an LED strip. The spacing between branches on the main cable is approximately 40 cm.
- Connect each LED strip's plug to a corresponding socket on the main connection cable. These are simple plug-and-play connections.
- Ensure all connections are secure.

4.4. Power Connection
- Connect the main connection cable to the power supply unit.
- Plug the power supply unit into a standard 230V/50Hz wall outlet.
- The LED stair lighting should now illuminate.

5. Operating Instructions
The Proventa LED Stair Lighting system is designed for simple operation.
- Basic Operation: Once connected to power, the LED strips will illuminate.
- Dimming Function: The system is dimmable. If you have purchased an optional dimmer (e.g., integrated with a motion sensor), follow its specific instructions to adjust the brightness.
- Optional Automation:
- Timer: For automatic on/off functionality at specific times, an external timer (not included) can be connected between the power supply and the wall outlet.
- Motion Sensor: An optional motion sensor with dimming functionality (not included) can be integrated at the top and bottom of the staircase. This will automatically activate the lighting when motion is detected and can be configured for adjustable switch-on times (e.g., 30, 130, or 380 seconds).
6. Maintenance and Care
- Cleaning: To clean the LED strips, gently wipe them with a soft, dry, or slightly damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents. Ensure the power is disconnected before cleaning.
- Adhesion Check: Periodically check the adhesion of the LED strips. If any part begins to peel, gently press it back into place. For persistent issues, additional adhesive or mounting clips may be required.
- Cable Inspection: Regularly inspect all cables and connections for any signs of damage or wear. If damage is found, disconnect power immediately and contact support.
7. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Lights do not turn on. | No power supply; loose connection; faulty power adapter. | Check if the power adapter is securely plugged into the wall outlet and the main cable. Ensure the outlet is functional. Verify all plug connections between LED strips and the main cable. |
| Some LED strips are not lighting up. | Loose connection to the specific strip; damaged LED strip. | Check the connection of the non-functional strip to the main cable. If the connection is secure and other strips work, the individual strip might be faulty. |
| LED strips are peeling off. | Insufficient surface preparation; unsuitable surface material. | Ensure the surface was clean and dry during installation. Re-apply pressure to the strip. For persistent issues, consider using additional adhesive or mounting clips/profiles. |
| Dimming function not working. | Incorrect dimmer installation; incompatible dimmer. | Refer to the instructions for your specific dimmer. Ensure it is correctly installed and compatible with 12V LED systems. |
