4.5 GPS Tracking
The external GPS antenna enables real-time display of GPS data, including speed and location, directly on the dash cam screen. You can also review your driving route and speed on a computer using the dedicated GPS player software (downloadable from wolfbox.com/gps-player).
4.6 Parking Monitoring
For 24-hour parking surveillance, a hardwire kit (sold separately, ASIN: B09X1L1GMX/B09X9F8GMT) is required. In time-lapse mode, the camera records at a low frame rate to conserve power and storage, ensuring continuous monitoring of your vehicle while parked.

4.7 G-Sensor and Loop Recording
The built-in 3-axis G-sensor detects sudden movements or collisions and automatically locks the current video segment to prevent it from being overwritten during loop recording. This ensures critical footage is preserved.

4.8 Night Vision and WDR/HDR Technology
The G840S features superior night vision capabilities, enhanced by WDR (Wide Dynamic Range) and HDR (High Dynamic Range) technology. These technologies balance lighting in challenging conditions, ensuring clear and detailed recordings even at night or in areas with strong contrasts.

5. Maintenance
- Cleaning the Lenses: Use a soft, lint-free cloth to gently wipe the camera lenses. Avoid abrasive materials or harsh chemicals that could scratch the lens.
- Cleaning the Screen: Use a microfiber cloth to clean the touch screen. For stubborn smudges, slightly dampen the cloth with water or a screen cleaner.
- Memory Card Management: Regularly format the 32GB memory card (at least once a month) to ensure optimal performance and prevent data corruption. Back up any important footage before formatting.
- Temperature Considerations: The built-in supercapacitor allows the device to operate safely in extreme temperatures, from -4°F to 158°F. However, prolonged exposure to direct sunlight in very hot climates should be minimized when the vehicle is parked.

Figure 12: The supercapacitor ensures safer and longer-lasting performance across a wide temperature range.
