5. Setup

5.1. Unpacking and Placement

  1. Remove all packaging materials from the printer.
  2. Place the printer on a stable, level surface with adequate ventilation.
  3. Ensure sufficient space around the printer for opening trays and accessing components.

5.2. Connecting Power and Network

  1. Connect the power cord to the printer and then to a grounded electrical outlet.
  2. For wired network connection, connect an Ethernet cable to the Gigabit/Fast Ethernet port on the printer and to your network.

5.3. Loading Paper

5.4. Installing Toner Cartridges and Imaging Drums

The toner cartridges and imaging drums are easily accessible from the front of the machine.

  1. Open the front access door of the printer.
  2. Remove the old toner cartridges and imaging drums if present.
  3. Unpack the new HP 659A toner cartridges and HP 660A imaging drums.
  4. Insert each component into its corresponding slot, ensuring it clicks into place.
  5. Close the front access door.

5.5. Initial Configuration

6. Operating the Printer
