4. Setup and Installation
The Klarstein Alina Hood is designed for wall mounting. It can be configured for either extraction (ducting air outside) or recirculation (filtering air and returning it to the kitchen) mode. For recirculation mode, two activated carbon filters (article 10030727, sold separately) are required.
4.1. Wall Mounting
Use the provided mounting material to securely attach the hood to a sturdy wall. Ensure the mounting height above the hob complies with local safety regulations and manufacturer recommendations (typically 65-75 cm for electric hobs and 75-85 cm for gas hobs).

4.2. Ducting (Extraction Mode)
Connect the provided drain hose (15 cm diameter) to the hood's outlet and route it to an external vent. Ensure the check valve is correctly installed to prevent backflow of air.
4.3. Recirculation (Filter Mode)
If using recirculation mode, install two activated carbon filters (not included) into the designated compartments within the hood. These filters will purify the air before it is returned to the kitchen.
5. Operating Instructions
The Klarstein Alina Hood features a user-friendly touch control panel for easy operation.

5.1. Power and Speed Control
- Power Button: Touch to turn the hood on or off.
- Speed Levels (1, 2, 3): Select from three different extraction speeds to match your cooking needs. Level 1 is for light cooking, Level 3 for heavy steam and odors.

5.2. LED Lighting and Ambient Light
- LED Lighting: Touch the light icon to turn the two energy-saving LED lights on or off, illuminating your cooking area.
- RGB Ambient Light: The hood features a balanced light concept with nine different ambient colors. Touch the ambient light icon to cycle through available colors: white, red, green, blue, yellow, lilac, orange, turquoise, and yellow-green.

6. Maintenance and Cleaning
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your Klarstein Alina Hood.
6.1. Cleaning the Exterior
- Wipe the glass and metal surfaces with a soft cloth dampened with mild detergent.
- Do not use abrasive cleaners, steel wool, or harsh chemicals, as these can damage the finish.
6.2. Cleaning Grease Filters
The metal grease filters should be cleaned regularly (approximately every 2-4 weeks, depending on usage) to prevent grease buildup and maintain extraction efficiency. They can be washed by hand with hot soapy water or in a dishwasher.
- To remove, push the filter latch and pull the filter downwards.
- Allow filters to dry completely before re-installing.
6.3. Replacing Activated Carbon Filters (Recirculation Mode)
Activated carbon filters (if used for recirculation) cannot be washed and must be replaced approximately every 3-6 months, depending on usage. Refer to article 10030727 for replacement filters.
