Maintenance
- Driver Updates: Regularly check the TP-Link website for updated drivers to ensure optimal performance and compatibility with the latest operating system versions.
- Physical Cleaning: Periodically clean the adapter and surrounding PC components to prevent dust buildup, which can affect performance and lead to overheating. Ensure the PC is powered off and unplugged before cleaning.
- Antenna Placement: Adjust the antenna position as needed to maintain the best possible signal strength, especially if you experience connectivity issues.
Troubleshooting
- No Wi-Fi/Bluetooth after installation:
- Ensure the adapter is correctly seated in the PCIe slot.
- Verify that the Bluetooth USB cable is securely connected to an F_USB header on the motherboard.
- Reinstall drivers, ensuring you download the correct 64-bit versions for your Windows operating system from the TP-Link website. - Poor Wi-Fi signal or slow speeds:
- Adjust the position of the external antenna base. Try placing it on top of your PC case or on your desk away from obstructions.
- Ensure your router supports Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) to fully utilize the adapter's capabilities. Even with a Wi-Fi 5 router, you should see an improvement, but Wi-Fi 6 provides maximum performance.
- Check for interference from other electronic devices. - Bluetooth not working:
- Confirm the Bluetooth USB cable is connected. This is a common oversight.
- Check your operating system's Bluetooth settings to ensure it's enabled and discoverable.
- Update Bluetooth drivers from the TP-Link website.
