6. Maintenance

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and performance of your Keychron K6 keyboard:

  • Cleaning Switches: Use compressed air to remove dust and debris from between the switches. If your model is hot-swappable (like the Gateron G Pro Brown Switch variant), you can carefully remove switches for cleaning or replacement.
  • Battery Care: Avoid fully draining the battery frequently. Charge the keyboard when the battery indicator is low.
  • Storage: When not in use for extended periods, store the keyboard in a cool, dry place.

7. Troubleshooting

Here are solutions to common issues you might encounter:

  • Keyboard Not Connecting via Bluetooth:
    • Ensure the mode switch is set to "Bluetooth".
    • Check if the keyboard is paired with another device. Try unpairing from other devices or switching Bluetooth channels (Fn1 + Q/W/E).
    • Ensure your device's Bluetooth is enabled and discoverable.
    • Try restarting both the keyboard and your device.
  • Input Lag in Wireless Mode (especially for gaming):
    • For competitive gaming, it is recommended to use the keyboard in wired USB Type-C mode to minimize latency.
    • Ensure there are no strong wireless interferences nearby.
  • Backlight Not Working or Dim:
    • Check battery level; low battery can affect backlight brightness.
    • Adjust brightness using "Fn1" + "F6".
    • Cycle through lighting modes using the dedicated light effect key.
  • Typing Discomfort / Wrist Strain:
    • The Keychron K6 has a relatively high profile. It is highly recommended to use a wrist rest for ergonomic comfort, especially during long typing sessions.
    • Adjust the keyboard's feet to find a comfortable typing angle.
  • Keys Not Responding:
    • Ensure the keyboard is properly connected (wired or Bluetooth).
    • Check for debris under the keycap or switch.
    • If your model is hot-swappable, try reseating the switch for the non-responsive key.
    • Perform a factory reset (refer to the Quick Start Guide for specific key combinations, typically Fn1 + J + Z for 4 seconds).
