4. Maintenance
To ensure optimal performance of your BroadLink RM4 Mini, keep it in a clear line of sight to the devices it controls. IR signals cannot pass through walls or solid objects. Regularly check for app updates to ensure compatibility with newer devices and features. Keep the device clean and free from dust.
5. Troubleshooting
5.1 Wi-Fi Connection Issues
The RM4 Mini only supports 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi. If you experience connection problems, ensure your router is set to 2.4 GHz or that your phone is connected to the 2.4 GHz band during setup. Some users have reported issues with special characters in Wi-Fi network names (SSID) or passwords; try simplifying these if problems persist.
5.2 IR Signal Obstacles
IR signals require a direct line of sight. Make sure there are no obstacles between the RM4 Mini and the appliance you wish to control. Position the device strategically for best coverage.
5.3 Device Not Responding
If the device is not responding, try resetting it by pressing and holding the reset button for 5 seconds. Re-add the device to the BroadLink app if necessary. For further assistance, refer to the "Help centre" section within the BroadLink App.
