5. Operating Instructions
5.1. Power On/Off
Press the Power button to turn the dehumidifier on or off.
5.2. Setting Desired Humidity
- With the unit running, press the Humidity +/- buttons to set your desired humidity level.
- The digital display will show the set humidity for a few seconds, then revert to displaying the current room humidity.
- The unit will operate until the room humidity reaches the set level, then it will cycle off. It will restart automatically if the humidity rises above the set level.
5.3. Fan Speed
Press the Fan Speed button to cycle through available fan speeds (e.g., Low, High). Higher fan speed results in faster dehumidification but may produce more noise.
5.4. Timer Function
The timer function allows you to set a period after which the unit will automatically turn off.
- Press the Timer button.
- Use the Humidity +/- buttons to select the desired operating duration (e.g., 2 or 4 hours, as indicated by the product's features).
- The unit will automatically shut off after the set time has elapsed.
5.5. Continuous Drainage (Optional)
The Daitsu ADD-20XA may support continuous drainage. If available, connect a suitable drain hose (not included) to the continuous drainage port (usually located at the back or side of the unit) and direct it to a floor drain or larger container. This bypasses the need to manually empty the water tank.
6. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your dehumidifier.
6.1. Emptying the Water Tank
When the water tank is full, the unit will automatically stop operating and may emit an audible alert. The display might show a 'Full' indicator.
- Gently pull out the water tank from the front of the unit.
- Carefully empty the collected water.
- Slide the empty tank back into the unit until it clicks into place. The unit will resume operation.
6.2. Cleaning the Air Filter
The air filter should be cleaned regularly, approximately once a week or when the 'Filter' indicator lights up, to maintain efficiency and prevent dust buildup.
- Turn off and unplug the dehumidifier.
- Remove the water tank. Inside the tank compartment, locate the air filter (often a mesh screen).
- Gently pull out the air filter.
- Clean the filter with a vacuum cleaner or wash it with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and allow it to air dry completely before reinserting.
- Reinsert the dry filter and replace the water tank.
6.3. Cleaning the Exterior
Wipe the exterior of the unit with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals, abrasives, or solvents, as these can damage the surface.
6.4. Storage
If storing the unit for an extended period:
- Empty and clean the water tank and air filter.
- Ensure the unit is completely dry before storage.
- Store the unit in an upright position in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight.
