Product Components
The Bialetti Venus coffee maker consists of three main parts:
- Lower Chamber (Boiler): Holds the water. Features a safety valve.
- Funnel Filter: Holds the ground coffee. Sits inside the lower chamber.
- Upper Chamber: Collects the brewed coffee. Includes a lid and handle.

Setup and First Use
Before using your Bialetti Venus for the first time, it is recommended to wash all parts with warm water without soap and brew coffee three times, discarding the coffee each time. This conditions the pot and removes any manufacturing residues.
- Unscrew the upper chamber from the lower chamber.
- Remove the funnel filter from the lower chamber.
- Fill the lower chamber with cold water up to the level just below the safety valve. Do not exceed the valve.
- Insert the funnel filter into the lower chamber.
- Fill the funnel filter with ground coffee. Do not tamp the coffee down. Ensure the edges are clean of any loose grounds.
- Tightly screw the upper chamber onto the lower chamber. Ensure a secure seal to prevent leaks during brewing.

Operating Instructions
- Place the assembled coffee maker on a heat source (gas, electric, ceramic, or induction hob). Ensure the heat source is appropriate for the size of the pot and does not extend beyond the base.
- Heat on a medium setting. Avoid high heat, as this can burn the coffee and affect the taste.
- Monitor the brewing process. As the water heats, it will rise through the coffee grounds and into the upper chamber.
- Remove from Heat: Once you hear a gurgling sound and see steam, indicating the coffee has finished brewing, immediately remove the pot from the heat source. This prevents the coffee from overheating and becoming bitter.
- Serve: Pour the freshly brewed coffee into cups and enjoy.

Maintenance and Cleaning
Proper cleaning ensures the longevity of your Bialetti Venus and preserves the authentic taste of your coffee.
- Disassemble the coffee maker after it has cooled down.
- Rinse all parts (lower chamber, funnel filter, upper chamber) thoroughly with warm water.
- Do NOT use soap or detergents, as these can damage the aluminum and affect the coffee's flavor over time.
- Do NOT place in a dishwasher. Dishwashers can cause discoloration and damage to the pot.
- Dry all components completely with a towel or allow them to air dry before reassembling or storing. Store disassembled to prevent moisture buildup.

Troubleshooting
- Leaking during brewing: Ensure the upper and lower chambers are tightly screwed together. Check that the rubber gasket and filter plate are correctly positioned and not worn.
- Coffee tastes bitter: This can happen if the coffee is brewed too quickly on high heat or if it remains on the heat source for too long after brewing is complete. Use medium heat and remove promptly.
- Coffee tastes weak: Ensure the lower chamber is filled with water up to the safety valve. Check that the coffee grounds are not too coarse and the funnel is adequately filled.
- Gritty coffee: If coffee grounds appear in your brewed coffee, the grind might be too fine, or the pot might have been left on the heat for too long, causing the water to boil too vigorously and push grounds through.
- Rusting or staining: While stainless steel is resistant, improper care (e.g., using harsh detergents, not drying completely) can lead to staining or rust. Always rinse with water and dry thoroughly.
