3. System Requirements
The TP-Link RE305v3 is compatible with any standard Wi-Fi router or access point. For management and setup, the following operating systems are supported:

4. Setup Instructions
4.1 Quick Setup via WPS Button
The easiest way to set up your RE305v3 extender is by using the WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup) button.
- Plug the RE305v3 extender into an electrical outlet near your main router.
- Wait for the Power LED on the extender to turn solid blue.
- Press the WPS button on your main router.
- Within two minutes, press the RE button on your RE305v3 extender.
- The Signal LED on the extender should turn solid blue, indicating a successful connection. If not, try repositioning the extender closer to the router and repeat the steps.

For a more guided setup and advanced management, use the TP-Link Tether app.

5. Operating Modes
5.1 Range Extender Mode
In Range Extender mode, the device wirelessly connects to your existing router and extends its Wi-Fi signal to areas where the signal is weak or non-existent. This is the default operating mode.
5.2 Access Point (AP) Mode
In Access Point mode, the extender transforms your existing wired network into a wireless one. Connect an Ethernet cable from your router to the RE305v3's Ethernet port, and it will broadcast a new Wi-Fi network.

6. Maintenance
6.1 Firmware Updates
Regularly updating the firmware ensures optimal performance and security. You can check for and install firmware updates via the TP-Link Tether app:
- Open the Tether app.
- Select your RE305v3 extender.
- Navigate to Tools > System > Firmware Update.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to update.

6.2 Cleaning

- Cannot Connect to Extender's Wi-Fi: Verify that the extender is powered on and the Wi-Fi LED is lit. Try restarting the extender and your device.
- Resetting the Extender: If problems persist, you may need to reset the extender to factory default settings. With the extender powered on, use a pin to press and hold the Reset button (located on the side) for about 5 seconds until all LEDs flash. The extender will restart with default settings.
