4. Product Overview
The EDUP AC1300 USB WiFi Adapter is a compact device designed for high-speed wireless networking. It features a USB 3.0 interface for faster data transfer and an external 6dBi antenna for enhanced signal reception.

The adapter consists of a main USB dongle and a detachable high-gain antenna. The USB dongle plugs into a USB 3.0 port on your computer, indicated by the blue internal tab. A small LED indicator on the dongle illuminates when the device is active. The external antenna connects to the dongle via a screw-on connector, allowing for flexible positioning to optimize signal strength.

5. Setup
Follow these steps to install your EDUP AC1300 USB WiFi Adapter:
- Install the Driver:
Before plugging in the WiFi adapter, you must install the necessary drivers. Insert the provided mini CD into your computer's CD-ROM drive. If your computer does not have a CD-ROM drive, you can download the latest drivers from the official EDUP website. Run the setup file and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the driver installation.
Important Note:
- For Windows 11, Windows 10, Windows 8/8.1/7/XP, Vista, and Mac OS 10.6 to 10.15, ensure you install the correct driver version.
- This adapter does not support macOS Big Sur.
- It is recommended to install the driver from the CD or EDUP website first, then plug in the adapter.
- Connect the Antenna:
Carefully screw the external 6dBi antenna onto the connector on the USB WiFi adapter. Ensure it is securely fastened but do not overtighten.
- Plug in the Adapter:
Insert the USB WiFi adapter into an available USB 3.0 port on your desktop or laptop. USB 3.0 ports are typically blue. While the adapter is backward compatible with USB 2.0, a USB 3.0 port is recommended for optimal performance and faster transmission speeds.

Once plugged in, your operating system should recognize the device. If the driver was installed correctly, the adapter will appear in your network connections.
6. Operating the WiFi Adapter
After successful installation, you can connect to a wireless network.
- Connecting to a WiFi Network:
- Click on the network icon in your system tray (Windows) or menu bar (Mac OS).
- Select your desired WiFi network from the list of available networks.
- Enter the network security key (password) if prompted.
- Click "Connect" to establish the connection.
- Dual-Band Operation (2.4GHz and 5GHz):
The adapter supports both 2.4GHz and 5GHz frequency bands. The 2.4GHz band offers wider coverage and better penetration through walls, while the 5GHz band provides faster speeds and less interference, ideal for activities like 4K video streaming and online gaming. Your router must also support dual-band operation for you to utilize the 5GHz band.

- Soft AP Mode (Hotspot Function):
The Soft AP feature allows you to turn your computer into a WiFi hotspot, sharing your wired internet connection wirelessly with other devices like smartphones, tablets, or other computers. This is useful if you only have a wired internet connection and need to provide WiFi access to other devices.
- To enable Soft AP mode, refer to the specific instructions provided by your operating system or the driver utility software.
- Ensure your computer is connected to the internet via an Ethernet cable.
- Once enabled, other devices can connect to the new WiFi network created by your adapter.

7. Maintenance
The EDUP AC1300 USB WiFi Adapter requires minimal maintenance.
- Keep the adapter clean and free from dust. Use a soft, dry cloth for cleaning.
- Ensure the antenna is not bent or damaged.
- Periodically check the EDUP website for updated drivers to ensure optimal performance and compatibility with new operating system versions.
8. Troubleshooting
