5. Installation and Wiring
5.1 Mounting

5.2 Wiring Instructions

- Connect your solar panel or input power source to the IN+ and IN- terminals.

5.3 Important Safety Notes
- Reverse Connection Protection: This module does not have built-in input reverse connection protection. If connecting to a battery or power source that could be reversed, an external diode must be added in series with the input to prevent damage to the module.
- Output Anti-Backflow: The module does not have output anti-backflow protection. When connecting the output to a battery, ensure an anti-reverse diode is installed between the module's output and the battery to prevent current from flowing back into the module, which could cause damage.
- Current Detection: The module uses low-end current detection. Do not directly short the input negative terminal (IN-) and the output negative terminal (OUT-).
6. Operation
The module features three potentiometers for adjustment: MPPT voltage, constant current (CC), and constant voltage (CV). These are multi-turn potentiometers, requiring multiple rotations to observe significant changes.
6.1 Setting MPPT Voltage
The MPPT potentiometer adjusts the voltage at which the module extracts maximum power from the solar panel. This should typically be set slightly below the solar panel's open-circuit voltage under load conditions.
- Connect the solar panel to the input (IN) terminals.
- Connect a voltmeter to the input terminals.
- Adjust the MPPT potentiometer until the input voltage stabilizes at the desired MPPT voltage for your solar panel.
6.2 Setting Output Constant Voltage (CV)
The CV potentiometer sets the maximum output voltage. This is crucial for charging batteries to their correct voltage level.
- Connect the input power source (solar panel or other).
- Disconnect any load or battery from the output terminals.
- Connect a voltmeter to the output (OUT) terminals.
- Adjust the CV potentiometer clockwise to increase voltage or counter-clockwise to decrease it, until the desired output voltage is reached.
6.3 Setting Output Constant Current (CC)
The CC potentiometer sets the maximum output current. This protects the battery from overcurrent during charging and the load from excessive current draw.
