1. Introduction

The Braun Silk-épil 9 9-880 is a versatile hair removal device designed for efficient and gentle epilation, shaving, and trimming. Its wide, pivoting head and Micro-Grip tweezer technology ensure smooth skin by removing hairs as short as 0.5mm. This device is 100% waterproof, allowing for comfortable wet and dry use. The kit also includes a facial cleansing brush for comprehensive skincare.

2. Important Safety Instructions

General Precautions:

• This appliance is provided with a special cord set with an integrated Safety Extra Low Voltage power supply. Do not exchange or manipulate any part of it.
• When disconnected, the hand-held part of this appliance may be used in a bath or shower.
• Close supervision is necessary when this appliance is used by, on, or near children or persons with disabilities.
• Use this appliance only for its intended use as described in this manual. Do not use attachments not recommended by the manufacturer.
• Never operate this appliance if it has a damaged cord or plug, if it is not working properly, if it has been dropped or damaged, or if the power supply has been dropped into water. Return the appliance to a service center for examination and repair.
• Keep the cord away from heated surfaces.
• Never drop or insert any object into any opening.
• Do not use outdoors or operate where aerosol (spray) products are being used or where oxygen is being administered.
• Do not use this appliance with a damaged or broken foil, as serious skin injuries may occur.
• Always attach the plug to the appliance first, then to the outlet. To disconnect, turn all controls to «off», then remove the plug from the outlet.
• When plugging into an electrical outlet outside the USA, use a plug adapter to match the outlet’s pin configuration.

Battery Safety:

• The battery used in this device may present a fire or chemical burn hazard if mistreated. Do not disassemble, heat above 100 °C (212 °F), or incinerate.
• To recharge the battery, only use the detachable power supply provided with this appliance. If the appliance is marked 492-XXXX, only use Braun power supplies coded 492-XXXX.

Charger Unit:

• The charger unit is not for immersion in water or for use in the shower.
• Do not reach for a charger that has fallen into water. Unplug immediately.
• Do not place, store, or charge the appliance where it can fall or be pulled into a tub or sink. Do not place in or drop into water or other liquid.
• Except when charging, always unplug this appliance from the electrical outlet.
• Unplug this appliance before cleaning.
• Do not use an extension cord with this appliance.

4. Setup

4.1 Charging the Device

Before first use, fully charge your Silk-épil 9 device. Connect the power cord to the device and plug it into an electrical outlet. The charging indicator light will show the charging status. A full charge typically provides enough power for multiple uses.

4.2 Attaching and Detaching Heads

To change an attachment head:

1. Ensure the device is turned off.
2. Press the release button (if applicable) or gently pull the current head upwards to detach it from the main unit.
3. Align the desired attachment head with the main unit and push it down until it clicks securely into place.
