- MIC ONE / MIC TWO (XLR/TRS Combo Jacks): Inputs for microphones or line-level sources.
- LEVEL (MIC ONE, MIC TWO, 1-4): Adjusts the input gain for each respective channel.
- TONE (MIC ONE, MIC TWO): Adjusts the tonal characteristics (brightness/darkness) of the microphone inputs.

- 15 VDC Power Input: Connect the included power adapter here.
- MAIN OUTPUTS (XLR & RCA): Balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA outputs for connecting to an amplifier, powered speakers, or recording device.
- SOURCE INPUTS (1-4 RCA): Unbalanced RCA inputs for line-level devices such as CD players, media players, or other audio sources.
- MIC/FX INSERT: Allows for the insertion of external effects processors for the microphone channels.
- MICROPHONE 1 / MICROPHONE 2 (XLR): Dedicated XLR inputs for microphones.
- PHANTOM POWER Switch: Activates +48V phantom power for condenser microphones connected to the XLR inputs.
5. Setup
Follow these steps to set up your RM169 mixer:
- Placement: Place the RM169 on a stable, flat surface or mount it in a standard 19-inch rack using appropriate rack ears (not included). Ensure adequate ventilation around the unit.
- Power Connection: Connect the supplied 15V DC power adapter to the 15 VDC input on the rear panel of the RM169. Plug the adapter into a suitable AC power outlet. Do not power on the unit yet.
- Output Connection: Connect the MAIN OUTPUTS (XLR or RCA) on the rear panel of the RM169 to the inputs of your amplifier, powered speakers, or recording device.
- Input Connections:
- For microphones, connect them to the MIC ONE/TWO combo jacks on the front or the dedicated XLR inputs on the rear. If using condenser microphones, ensure the PHANTOM POWER switch on the rear is set to ON.
- For line-level devices (e.g., CD players, media players), connect them to the SOURCE INPUTS (1-4) on the rear panel using RCA cables.
- Headphones: If desired, connect headphones to the HEADPHONE output on the front panel.
- Power On: Once all connections are made, turn on the RM169. The POWER indicator on the front panel will illuminate.
6. Operating Instructions
This section details the basic operation of the RM169 mixer.
- Adjusting Input Levels: For each connected source (microphones, line-level devices), slowly turn up the corresponding LEVEL knob (MIC ONE, MIC TWO, 1-4) until the desired volume is achieved. Monitor your output device to prevent clipping or distortion.
- Tone Control (Microphones): Use the TONE knobs for MIC ONE and MIC TWO to adjust the brightness or warmth of the microphone signals. Turn clockwise for brighter sound, counter-clockwise for warmer sound.
- Global Equalization: Use the BASS and TREBLE knobs to adjust the overall low and high frequencies of the main mix.
- Main Output Level: The OUTPUT knob controls the master volume of the main XLR and RCA outputs. Adjust this to control the overall volume sent to your amplifier or powered speakers.
- Headphone Monitoring: Use the HEADPHONE LEVEL knob to adjust the volume of your headphones independently of the main output.
6.1 Bluetooth Pairing
To connect a Bluetooth device to your RM169:
- Ensure the RM169 is powered on.
- On your Bluetooth-enabled device (e.g., smartphone, tablet), go to its Bluetooth settings and enable Bluetooth.
- Search for available devices. The RM169 will appear as "ROLLSBT".
- Select "ROLLSBT" to pair. Once paired, audio from your device will be routed through the RM169.
- Adjust the level of the Bluetooth input using the corresponding channel level control (typically Channel 4, but refer to the front panel diagram for exact labeling).
- If you experience connection issues, press the RESET button on the front panel to clear the Bluetooth connection and attempt pairing again.
7. Maintenance
Proper maintenance ensures the longevity of your RM169 mixer:
- Cleaning: Disconnect the power cord before cleaning. Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the exterior of the unit. Do not use liquid cleaners or aerosol cleaners.
- Storage: When not in use for extended periods, store the unit in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- Ventilation: Regularly check that the ventilation openings are not obstructed by dust or debris.
8. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your RM169, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
- No Power:
- Ensure the power adapter is securely connected to both the unit and a working power outlet.
- Verify the power outlet is active.
- No Sound Output:
- Check that the RM169 is powered on and the POWER indicator is lit.
- Ensure the OUTPUT level knob is turned up.
- Verify that the LEVEL knobs for the active input channels are turned up.
- Check all audio cables for secure connections and proper functionality.
- Ensure the connected amplifier or powered speakers are turned on and functioning correctly.
- Bluetooth Not Connecting:
- Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your device and it is within range of the mixer.
- Press the RESET button on the front panel of the RM169.
- Forget or unpair "ROLLSBT" from your device's Bluetooth settings and attempt to pair again.
- Ensure no other device is currently paired with the RM169.
- Distorted Sound:
- Reduce the input LEVEL for the affected channel.
- Reduce the master OUTPUT level.
- Check the input signal source for distortion.
