4. Setup

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove the laminator and all accessories from the packaging. Retain the packaging for future storage or transport.
  2. Placement: Place the laminator on a clean, dry, stable, and heat-resistant surface. Ensure there is sufficient space around the device for proper ventilation and for documents to exit freely.
  3. Power Connection: Plug the power cable into the laminator's power input, then connect it to a suitable electrical outlet.

5. Operating the Laminator

5.1 Power On and Warm-up

  1. Ensure the laminator is properly set up and plugged in.
  2. Flip the main power switch to the 'ON' position. The 'Power' indicator light will illuminate.
  3. The device will begin to warm up. This process takes approximately 5 minutes. The 'Ready' indicator light will illuminate when the laminator has reached the optimal operating temperature.

5.2 Hot Lamination

Hot lamination is suitable for standard documents using heat-activated laminating pouches.

  1. After warm-up, ensure the laminator is set to 'HOT' mode.
  2. Select the appropriate laminating pouch thickness using the rotary switch. For hot lamination, the device supports pouches from 80 to 125 microns.
  3. Place your document neatly inside a laminating pouch, ensuring it is centered and there is an even border around the document.
  4. Insert the sealed edge of the laminating pouch into the laminator's entry slot. The adjustable insertion aid helps guide the pouch straight. The laminator will automatically feed the pouch through.
  5. Allow the laminated document to cool on a flat surface before handling to ensure proper sealing.

5.3 Cold Lamination

Cold lamination uses self-adhesive pouches and does not require heat, making it suitable for heat-sensitive documents.

  1. After warm-up, ensure the laminator is set to 'COLD' mode.
  2. Use cold laminating pouches. The device supports cold pouches up to 200 microns.
  3. Prepare your document with the cold laminating pouch according to the pouch manufacturer's instructions.
  4. Insert the sealed edge of the cold laminating pouch into the laminator's entry slot. The laminator will feed the pouch through.

5.4 Immediate Stop (ABS Function)

In case of a misfeed or jam, the laminator features an immediate stop function (ABS). To activate, rotate the thickness switch to the 'ABS' position. This will stop the rollers, allowing you to carefully pull out the jammed pouch. Once cleared, return the switch to the desired thickness setting.

5.5 Power Off

When finished laminating, flip the main power switch to the 'OFF' position. Unplug the device from the power outlet and allow it to cool down completely before storing.

6. Operating the Paper Trimmer

The integrated paper trimmer allows for precise cutting of documents.

  1. Ensure the laminator is stable on a flat surface.
  2. Lift the transparent cutting guide.
  3. Place the document(s) under the cutting guide, aligning the edge to be cut with the desired measurement on the ruler. The trimmer can cut a maximum of 3 sheets of 80 g/m² paper or 1 laminated document.
  4. Lower the cutting guide to secure the document(s).
  5. Slide the rotary blade along the cutting rail to trim the document.
  6. Carefully remove the trimmed document and any excess paper.

Caution: The cutting blade is sharp. Always keep fingers clear of the cutting path.

7. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your laminator.

  • Cleaning: Always unplug the device before cleaning. Use a soft, slightly damp cloth to wipe the exterior surfaces. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents. Ensure no liquids enter the device.
  • Storage: Store the laminator in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Ensure the device is completely cool before storing.
  • Internal Cleaning: The laminator rollers may accumulate adhesive residue over time. To clean, run a folded sheet of paper through the laminator several times while it is warm. Do not use chemical cleaners inside the device.

8. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your laminator, refer to the following table for common problems and solutions:

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Laminator does not turn on.No power supply.Check if the power cable is securely plugged into the device and the electrical outlet. Test the outlet with another device.
'Ready' light does not illuminate.Device is still warming up.Wait approximately 5 minutes for the device to reach operating temperature.
Pouch jams in the laminator.Pouch inserted incorrectly or too thick.Immediately activate the ABS function (rotate thickness switch to 'ABS'). Carefully pull out the jammed pouch. Ensure pouches are inserted sealed-edge first and are within the specified thickness range.
Poor lamination quality (bubbles, wrinkles).Incorrect temperature setting, old pouches, or uneven insertion.Ensure the correct temperature setting for the pouch thickness. Use fresh, high-quality pouches. Insert pouches straight and centered.
Paper trimmer not cutting cleanly.Too many sheets, dull blade, or incorrect alignment.Do not exceed the maximum sheet capacity (3 sheets 80g/m² or 1 laminated document). Ensure the document is properly aligned. The blade is not user-replaceable; if dull, contact support.

If the problem persists after attempting these solutions, please contact customer support.
